21.01.2022 The holiday season is rapidly closing in and there is so much to celebrate as we near the end of the year. 2020 is almost done and we are so happy to see the end of it. As usual we have a few days where the gym reception will be on reduced hours or closed and some classes will be cancelled as well. Refer to the following calendar for our staffed hours and please make sure you see reception prior to us closing for the holidays so you can renew your membership or top up your casual visits. 19.01.2022 One again we thank all our members for wiping down equipment before and after use. We know this adds a bit of time to your workout but appreciate your efforts in keeping MainFitness clean and Covid safe. Many of you have noted the amount of paper towels being used. So to help reduce our impact on the environment we have made microfibre cloths available by the lockers and hand sanitiser spray. Just spray the cleaning spray onto the cloths and wipe down seats, benches and equi...pment as used. Once done just drop the cloths in the basket next to where you grabbed them and we will wash and reuse them. Thank you for your assistance.

With the easing of restrictions today there have been a few changes at the gym:... - TAG IN & TAG OUT when you use the gym - clean equipment before and after use - always bring and use a towel - bring water with you - social distancing still applies - no bookings required - 83 people allowed in the gym and 16 people in the classroom Please see the attached member update for all the information you need. You will have this Saturday available (8am to 12pm) to join up and get your 24/7 access pass. A number of membership options available from casual visits up to a 12 month membership. Just a $39 joining fee to get your 24/7 access pass and be able to come in this Sunday and holiday Monday. 15.01.2022 We all know we are having a few of these over the holidays so remember your 24/7 access pass allows you access to the gym to start working them off. If you like the rower, switch the units to calories and row until the display notes you have rowed 30 calories. That's about the average small chocolate...it may take a bit longer than you think.

10.01.2022 While MainFitness offers fitness classes and workouts of many types, we also partner with the local council and groups to include as many residents as possible. One partnership is with the Scenic Rim Healthy & Active program and the Lions Inclusion Group. Through this partnership we offer the 'Gym Buddies' class every Saturday. Gym Buddies centres around the Lions Club of Tamborine Mountain’s ‘Mountain Mates’ group, but any young adult with a disability is welcome, and it’s o...nly $5 a session, thanks to support from Scenic Rim Regional Council’s Be Healthy and Active program. Support persons are free. Gym Buddies Stay Keen and Fit! While many have been getting less fit during the last few months’ restrictions, there’s one group that’s staying healthy. Thanks to MainFitness Gym and support from the Scenic Rim’s Get Healthy and Active Program, the Lions Club of Tamborine Mountain’s Inclusion Group for young adults with a disability (recently rebadged as ‘Mountain Mates’) started its Saturday Gym Buddies program in February. The group was just getting into the swing of things when Covid-19 descended. No matter, trainer David Lawson and the group did the obvious thing and started Zooming. But the group missed seeing each other in person, and is now glad to be back in training with David. David creates a heap of laughs, gets the group working hard, and is now introducing new activities like boxing. We are learning to sanitise, sanitise, sanitise. Thanks, Main Fitness, David and Scenic Rim Regional Council!

07.01.2022 As we wait for the rains, how is your water intake? Are you getting 3-4L per day? If you are thirsty now then you are dehydrated. It will take a while to rehydrate fully so try to keep sipping all day long.

04.01.2022 Mornings may not be your best time of day, but a few hacks to help you get through it: 1. Get a good night sleep - don't watch TV or your phone too late - aim for 8 hours 2. Don't drink late at night ... - especially alcohol - avoid that late evening coffee 3. Get some sun - get some sunlight first thing to reset you body clock 4. Have a plan - know what you need to do if the morning and do just that 5. Get some exercise - get a workout buddy that will keep you accountable - get to a morning class See you Wednesday morning for: 6AM BOOTCAMP 9:30AM CIRCUIT Unfortunately we have had to cancel the 4pm TeenFit and 5:30pm Bootcamp for this week. 03.01.2022 While restrictions have been eased and we are very lucky in Queensland that our Covid rate is very low, health restrictions are still in place. A reminder that you must clean weight, benches and machines BEFORE AND AFTER USE. That is for everyone who uses the gym and any time of the day. We don't want to risk the gym having to close because someone didn't clean after themselves. Thank you to everyone who has been following this Qld Health rule. Please do your bit, enjoy the gym and keep yourself and everyone safe.
