Together, they have made a series of challenging new artworks exploring Dementia and its impacts. The exhibition includes portraits of individuals and their carers, as well as large abstract works. 24.01.2022 Art and Dementia Community Day Tomorrow, Tuesday 23 February On the second Thursday and last Tuesday of each month, enjoy an engaging social tour of our current exhibitions and art making actviities, specifically tailored for people living with dementia and their carers.... Guided by a trained facilitator, our Art and Dementia program encourages discussion, self-expression, stories, and art making, and enables visitors to express their thoughts and emotions. Attendees gain intellectual stimulation and opportunities for further discussion between participants, carers and facilitators, all in a friendly and supportive environment. To ensure we are able to maintain a COVID-safe environment, VR experiences will be viewable at 15 minute increments from 10.30am - 4.30pm Tuesday - Sunday. Maitland Regional Art Gallery is the only NSW Gallery to host this exhibition in 2021. ...
