25.01.2022 HEY FELLOW PARENTS AND STUDENTS... Recently, I have noticed a lot of our younger students getting stuck with the lessons plans that Education Queensland as put up on their website. Some of the content may require a student need more consolidation or even to simply understand. In addition to that, I have met up with a few students to help them with their upcoming assignments. Some of our grade 8's are attempting a geometry board game with a written report (2000 words). Our gr...ade 9'ers have a killer golf course assignment that requires detail up detail. Our students facing grade 9 maths have been presented with further trigonometry exploration and more in-depth exercise in linear relations. Grade 7'ers learning high school mathematical basics for the first time... If any of your students are having a harder time at the moment, or you don't know how to help - get in touch with us ... we have more flexible times knowing that majority of our students out there are working from home.

03.01.2022 PARENTS - YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Having tutoring for over 4 years now, I have seen this time and time again. Commonly, parents state that either their child doesn’t have any homework (when they actually do), does have homework yet protests (in yelling, crying or shut down), or does do the homework HOWEVER fails their subjects. It can be tricky. Which is why professional help is important. Tutors KNOW what children are required to do for their curriculum. They also are able to teach parents where to look for homework, especially in such a digital world Finally, professional help takes the emotions out of it. 01.01.2022 Some parents often asked me how I have the patience or the ability to continue working with the difficulties that a student may represent through their attitude. Sitting through their cries of "I can't do this", "I'm so dumb", "I will never pass school!" ... Growth Mindset is NOT something that children and students are born with... they need to be reminded over and over again of growth mindset language. Growth Mindset requires experiencing failure, building resilience, feeling safe and growing mentally/emotionally. Over time, my students know that there is always a safety net of learning, support and consistency underneath when they do fail or come up against something that they don't know or struggling with. This, with time, fosters GROWTH MINDSET :)
