Ace job Shout-out to the amazing work of our Year 8 Drama students, who have been creating slapstick routines under the guidance of the creative folk at Make A Scene Theatre! Students were tasked with creating a character in a classic slapstick scenario, where anything and everything can go wrong! Here are just a couple of examples of their amazing slapstick shorts, with more to come in the next Newsletter! Amazing work, team!

12.01.2022 Last week we taught our first face to face session since March. To be Covid safe as possible, students created their own simple character masks at home and brought them to class. Must say we were thoroughly impressed! The homemade masks worked as a rehearsal tool and safe way to explore characters. Well done ASA students! #ASA #commediadellarte #makeascenetheatre

02.01.2022 A lot of people do misunderstand writing comedy and I have had producers get frustrated and say, will you stop messing about and write something - and I think you have to say - this is writing, messing about is writing because writing comedy is like playing, its like being a child, its not sitting down writing line, line, line, you have to mess about in order to get somewhere.
