23.01.2022 18 September Electrics are done. Thanks Ross Powell. New powerpoint installed for the under-sink hot water heater which we will get connected next week. It took a fair bit of fiddling to get in through the side of the kitchen cupboard from the outside power point, but with my help it only took Ross twice as long then if he'd done it by himself. Ross also replaced the old switches and power points which greatly improves the look of the painted walls. I didn't help with tha...t, so it went quite quickly. The lighting is the next big project. We're thinking about something on the ceiling on tracks like a theatre. We're hoping for inspiration or creative advice...or both. When I wasn't getting in Ross' way, I sanded and cleaned the kitchen today, ready for painting. The cupboard is pretty sound, other than where a little bit of water got into the chipboard. We can fix that. Skye's project is coming along nicely. It's fascinating to watch the process. The floor of reclaimed hardwood timber looks fantastic. Amazing transformation. I build tiny

22.01.2022 Found this cutie on the wall behind some shelving yesterday. I let him be and he'd relocated by this morning. Also yesterday, Skye found a trio of tree frogs under a tarp she had over some timber. It must have been the day for wildlife.

19.01.2022 28 August 2020 Thanks to Chris Pender for painting today. Not too much more painting inside left. He's a hard man to convince to take a break though. I'm sure he only stopped to keep me company. I spent most of the last couple of days on my hands and knees scrubbing the floors. My back is killing me, but the paver / tiles came up quite well. I managed to get rid of most of the paint, glue and unidentified stuff, although I had to resort to using a wire brush disc on my d...rill. Skye's suggestion to take a wire brush to it saved me days. I build tiny The old red lino tiles have definitely seen better days, but I really like the look. Hopefully we can find some sort of clear glossy sealant for them.

17.01.2022 Second coat of sealer going down on the floor while Kate is about to paint the kitchen cupboard doors and drawers and very bright blue. Thanks for the video Kate.

17.01.2022 A TMAC mentoring initiative ...well done Margy Rose

17.01.2022 Skye's tree frogs trio.

17.01.2022 24 September 2020 Third and final coat on the floor, but not before cleaning up after a nocturnal possum (?) visitor.

16.01.2022 25 August 2020 After scraping, chiseling, water-blasting and mopping...I reckon another seven or eight times will have the floor done and ready for sealing, although I quite like the constellation look.

14.01.2022 25 September 2020 We do have a resident possum, and it is living inside the roller door. I guess it is not that different to a hollow log, although it must be a bit disconcerting for it when I open or close the door. The possum is a bit hard to see in this photo, but that glint is its eyes. ... Now, how to get it out of there?

13.01.2022 Just watched an excellent presentation by Kate Raworth on Doughnut Economics, one of the most important ideas of our time (link to recording below). Regen Melbourne (https://www.regen.melbourne) is leading work to apply the model in Melbourne. Why not Regen Scenic Rim or Regen TM?

11.01.2022 17 September 2020 Start of the floor grinding and the inside of our safe.

10.01.2022 Exciting news...though the proof will be in the compost.

10.01.2022 21 September 2020 Owen Achterberg did a fantastic job on the floor. It looks like new, only a bit more interesting. Tomorrow Sue and I put on the first sealer coat. Got to remember to start in the corner, rather than end up there.

10.01.2022 Tamborine Mountain Arts Collective Nice little article by Helen Griffin in one of the local papers about the TMAC AGM that Sue and I attended to speak about Making Good Alliance and the Centre for Regenerative Arts. We were impressed to hear about Drew's 100 Acts of Kindness initiative.

09.01.2022 Looks a bit unruly, but garden beds finished, filled with soil, and mulched. Repurposed our leaking water tank as 2 veggie beds. Planter boxes in the front were donated by Deb and Rick, and will be used for plants to attract pollinators.

09.01.2022 16 September 2020 Cleared the floor ready for cleaning and grinding tomorrow by Owen. We'll put a clear sealant on next week. Couldn't quite manage the safe on my own though. You can see it strapped to the red trolley in a couple of the photos.... Isaac and I tried to move it a few days ago but it flattened the trolley tyres. They're pumped up again now, so hopefully we can drag it outside in the morning. The electrician (Ross) comes Friday to instal a powerpoint under the sink for the hot water and to replace some (actually all I think) the powerpoint and switch covers.

08.01.2022 17 September 2020 We went to an exhibition today at Griffith Uni's PoP Gallery in Fortitude Valley of work by Tamborine Mountain artist Jacques van der Merwe. It was extraordinary. Unfortunately tomorrow is the last day of the exhibition. If you can't make the exhibition, you can see his work at https://www.griffith.edu.au//online-exhibitions/jacques-va or https://www.jacquesvandermerwe.com.au. Today was also floor grinding day. Owen is doing a great job. Amazing what ...a difference it makes. Added bonus - after dragging the safe out with Owen's ute, the safe door open. I'd just finished telling Owen we didn't have the key and it was too expensive to get a locksmith, than he turned the handle and pulled open the door. Sadly no treasures. Photos to follow.

06.01.2022 13 August 2020 Planting working bee under the expert guidance of the impeccable Judit Roland. She also provided the plants, the tools and much of the effort! Thanks very much to the other workers too; Chloe Toussaint, Graeme Skinner, and Graham Griffin.

04.01.2022 21 August 2020 I promised no more ceiling / wall photos for a while, but today I make an exception. That because the ceiling, walls, hoist and the inside of the roller door are done! Amazing what can be accomplished with a bucket, a sponge, some sugar soap and a mop. The novelty, however, wore off some weeks ago. Only the floors, a bit more painting, and some electricals to do on the inside, then on to cleaning and painting the outside.... We now also have a fridge. Many thanks to Margy who donated it on behalf of TMAC.

02.01.2022 Timely and important article...

02.01.2022 Inspiring report 'Towards a Regenerative Melbourne' available now from Regen Melbourne https://www.regen.melbourne. Very useful summary of Doughnut Economics too.

02.01.2022 14 August 2020 A mini working bee today. Griffith Uni Masters students Chloe Toussaint and Isaac Mauete were back on site. The jobs for them weren't much fun... - Chloe tackled the paint-splattered tiled floors with turps and a rag, and Isaac got stuck into the glue and resin clumps on the concrete floors with a scraper. They did a great job. I supervised from atop the scaffolding, occasionally mopping the ceiling, while Sue was on the rake outside. To our great excitement our sign went up today. Great job by Chris Simpson from Auto Art Signs (check out the artwork on his ute). Thanks to Christey Joh and Blake Youngman for their help and advice. Auto Art Signs

01.01.2022 Chris' scaffolding ready to go home. I was hoping Chris would forget where he left if all those months ago. We could not have done all the work we have done without it. Thanks Chris.

01.01.2022 Check out our new brochure on our website at https://www.makinggoodalliance.com.au on the Regenerative Arts page. Photos of the brochure are below. Many thanks to the brilliant Michael Adams Michael Adams Freelance.
