23.01.2022 This week at Making Waves Early Education Centre, we showed our community spirit and love for our country, as the children and their families brought in donations for our firefighters and those affected by the current bushfires. The children have been engaged in many conversations about the fires and recently the rain we have been seeing. The children are curious and shocked by what many people have lost, as well as the land that once was home to our Australian wildlife. It has brought joy and community spirit seeing all the donations come flooding in. We are all very thankful for these donations and can't wait to send them off!

15.01.2022 This week, our awesome educators introduced the children to the lovely experience of Chinese New Year. We celebrated by making dumplings , making fans and loving our Chinese lanterns and play noodles. Not only did our children learn about another culture, they too learned how to cook these dumplings. Parents, who are asking their little one to cook dumplings tonight?

11.01.2022 Our educators encourage children to investigate and discuss what is happening in their natural world. Recently this has led to discussions about how extreme the weather in Australia has been lately. Intentionally extending this interest led to further discussions about worldwide weather systems and events.... Research shows there is a positive relationship between STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) experiences in the early years and future success in school. Because we know that learning happens naturally through exploration and play, educators extend on current knowledge with child-led group projects. This week the children are making paper mache volcanoes. This activity incorporates science, as we discover together, how common household ingredients combine to create chemical reactions and geography as we research where volcanoes occur in the world. Stay tuned to see where this learning journey takes us!

07.01.2022 Hello everybody, Sharon, Kayla, Erin, Courtney, Chaya and Rod have made the bold decision to participate in the World's Greatest Shave for The Leukaemia Foundation. Our team 'Inspiring Waves of Change' is seeking support from our community in any way you feel comfortable with. It could be actively participating, with a colour, cut or shave or simply donating. Lets get the word out and reach our team goal of $5,000. The event will take place on Wednesday 11th March onsite at M...aking Waves. We will be trying to make this as high profile as possible in the hope that we can reach our goal. We have all had very painful and personal experiences with cancer and feel strongly about raising awareness and contributing to a cause close to our hearts. Sharon and Rod are shaving. 07.01.2022 On Wednesday's our team of little people, along with our awesome educators attend BaptistCare, Warabrook. We do this every Wednesday. It's not the children's development of care, we love seeing the most, or the kids enjoying engaging with the elderly. Its the look on the faces of those, living, working and visiting Baptist Care Warabrook, and their smiles which engage us the most. We thank all the team at BaptistCare for helping build our children's development by interacting with the wonderful people at Warabrook Baptistcare!
