24.01.2022 Pending confirmation from the Victorian Agricultural Shows, The Victorian Showmen's Guild and relevant stakeholders, a date has been tentatively set for the 130th Traralgon Show! We will carefully observe evolving government restrictions and will confirm in the weeks to come with Latrobe City Council. It's our hope to confirm and formally announce by June 2020.... The Traralgon Show will be back, bigger, better and a little different thanks to your input. Until then, save the date!

22.01.2022 The members and Committee of the Traralgon & Districts Agricultural Society were devastated to learn of the passing of our dear friend and stalwart of the Traralgon Show and the wider Traralgon and Callignee community, Mardi Symon's. Mardi Symons passed away peacefully last week at the age of 89. Senior Citizen of the year in 2008, life member of numerous local sports and community groups including the Traralgon & Districts Agricultural Society, Mardi selflessly contributed ...to our communities on an immeasurable scale for decades upon decades. Due to the current health crisis and restrictions, there will not be a large funeral. But community is invited to leave an online comment at the link below for her beloved family. https://tinyurl.com/ycgykdvw Our heartfelt condolences to the whole Symons family, Mardi will be greatly missed and we endeavour to honour her extraordinary contributions further in our future show.

21.01.2022 Thank you Darren Chester MP for your kind words and support.

19.01.2022 It's been a busy few weeks! As you may have heard / read, We have recently secured some support from a building contractor, allowing us to begin the long awaited opportunity to renovate and repair our building at the historical Traralgon Showgrounds. While we won't be hosting a show in 2019, We will be launching our next Show in 2020, and it will be our 130th Show.... We are using this time and opportunity and have already made great headway clearing out the Secretary's office for repair, refresh and reorganisation, completion of renovations to the Rural Room Meeting Space, emptying of content from the historical Pavillion and liaising with contractors to support a larger grant application before the end of the year. We expect that with these important improvements made, that we will be able to bring about a Bigger and better Traralgon Show than ever! We continue to send our thanks to the whole community for their support and encouragement received to date. A special thank you to @Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby who have leant incredible people power to these efforts thus far. Kind regards Traralgon & Districts Agricultural Society Victorian Agricultural Shows

You have lifted our spirits and affirmed for us that the Traralgon Show most certainly has a future, and that we've made the right decision. We will be launching a survey publicly in the coming weeks to seek your feedback on our initial plans for the revitalised show in 2020.... Keeping the things that make the show great, We also have some BIG plans and your input would be invaluable. We begin works this week with the Pavillion being vacated and quotation on disability access beginning. It's wonderful to see the cogs turning. Until then, you have the heartfelt gratitude of the Traralgon and Districts Agricultural Society. We can't wait to launch our best show yet in 2020.

13.01.2022 Media Release Wednesday 5th August 2020 The Traralgon and Districts Agricultural Society have made the extremely difficult but inevitable decision to cancel this year’s Traralgon Show event, scheduled for December 4th and 5th. With over 6 months preparatory work required to facilitate an event of this size and in light of continuing restrictions and the risk to the community’s health as a result of COVID-19, the Committee met yesterday and determined that the Traralgon Show ...Continue reading

13.01.2022 You might have seen carnival rides and activities setting up at the Traralgon Recreation Reserve this week. A reminder to all, the Show is NOT proceeding this year as we are busily working on repairs, improvements and renovations to the Secretary's Office, Rural Room and Pavillion. These rides are readying for private events such as the Union Picnic and Loy Yang Family Day. ... The Show will return bigger and better than ever in 2020 for the 130th Traralgon Show! We appreciate your support

12.01.2022 Best of luck to our friends at Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby on the hosting of this great event at Lardner Park tomorrow! (SATURDAY 15TH JUNE) GO GET EM!

07.01.2022 Today, we received a call that changes everything! After 4 years of efforts and collaboration, we were informed this morning that we successfully secured 1 of 122 nationally awarded Regional Agricultural Show Development Grants for the repair and renovation of our Historical Craft Pavillion at the Traralgon Showgrounds. We are absolutely delighted and quite stunned to reach this major goal - a total of $157,525.70 to undertake a whole space renovation and repair for the futur...e of the Traralgon Show and benefit of the local community. The realisation of our dream for a mixed purpose usable space and preservation of this amazing building, has been a labour of love by many. Our heartfelt thanks to Caitlin Grigsby of Full Circle HR & Business Services for the support with our application converting a vision to paper. And our sincere gratitude to Scott Douglas for offering his knowledge and time, stepping in and helping coordinate trades, quotes and ideas to bring it all together. While a second lesser application was not successful, we are extremely grateful for this investment in our community and will put it to very good use. We will be taking the time to project plan extensively and can't wait to share more with you in time. ------ 122 Shows have been awarded grants from the $20M Regional Agricultural Show Development Grants Program announced late last year by the Federal Minister. Congratulations to those successful shows. https://www.agriculture.gov.au/ag-/infrastructure/ag-shows The 130th Traralgon Show (TBC)

07.01.2022 Preparations are well underway for refurbishment of our Historical Arts Pavillion at the Traralgon Showgrounds, thanks to much needed federal show society funding. Our dream of repairing this beautiful facility to safe, functional and hirable spaces for our community is so much closer now. This facility will be inaccessible for the next few months while trades are undertaking work on site. No visitors will be permitted on site through this time for your safety.... While most of our furniture will remain, some select items are for sale right now, with pick up from Traralgon. These items are listed on Facebook marketplace and more will be listed on this page as we progress. We do not have an update on the 2020 Show at this time, however the Committee will meet in coming weeks to make a decision and confirm publicly shortly thereafter. We appreciate the kind messages and support we have recieved during these difficult times. Our sincere thanks to our volunteers, Kerrie, Meleah, Luke and Caitlin for their wonderful efforts to begin dismantling, storing and organising the space ready for the works to commence.

07.01.2022 While we await news on our applications for Showgrounds and Show Funding, we are pleased to share some upcoming great events at the Traralgon Showgrounds. Saturday February 15th we see two fantastic activities happening at the Traralgon Showgrounds! 11AM our friends at Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby open their doors for GRRD Celebrates 10 Years and the Launch of the GRRD Shed!... 06.01.2022 Last week was #NationalVolunteerWeek and we couldn't think of a better time to express our sincere gratitude to our volunteers, committee, members and friends. This year is particularly special with a surprise from Gippsland Ranges Roller Derby. 05.01.2022 In 2018, the Traralgon Show was unfortunately postponed. The Traralgon & Districts Agricultural Society Inc. has given us an update for what's happening in 2019.

04.01.2022 With the introduction of renewed restrictions, we have called a Committee Meeting for this week to review the viability of our Show or any variation of a Show in 2020. We thank you for your support and enquiries and will have an update before the weekend.

04.01.2022 We are so pleased to be able to confirm our major build partner for the renovation of the Historical Craft Pavilion at the Traralgon Showgrounds. Bringing a great attention to detail, a passion for the potential of the space, and a shared vision for what is possible, we are delighted to have J Croft Carpentry join the Traralgon & District Agricultural Society for the ambitious project and important rejuvenation of this very special building. Thanks to the wonderful support of... volunteers, we've already achieved so much. All of the content in the Pavilion has been removed, stacked and stored away from the main hall, rubbish removed and the art room cladding pulled down exposing a wonderful brick wall. We then gladly (and within social distancing guidelines), handed over our beloved building to Jamie's care. One week on - a photo of our progress already - we couldn't be more pleased. A blank canvas and so much work to be done, but the bones are just beautiful. We can't wait to share the final product with you at the end of the year. Up next, we consult with our key stakeholders and council, and confirm the plans including; the floors to be reviewed, repaired, sanded and sealed, the roof to be repaired and sealed, re-cladding and excitedly, the build of long awaited toilets in this exceptional building (and so much more) making it a full functioning, multi purpose user space for the community. We will create an album of progress photos from the past couple of months up to date, and then at intervals, now that visiting the space is not possible during the works. We appreciate the interest, but we ask the community to refrain from curious pop ins and visits as it is a building site, all the more important particularly in the current circumstances. #WatchThisSpace Latrobe City Council Traralgon & Districts Agricultural Society Inc.
