08.01.2022 The MDBA President, currently Frank Stachowicz and previously Rod Henderson, make sure that they are involved in not only how the MDBA operates but with issues which affect the business in and around Malaga. They position themselves to represent your views, or to provide answers to your questions. Through the Presidents Report, published here and in our bi-monthly newsletter, the President of the MDBA reply to any questions they have been asked that affects Malaga Business a...s well as inform members how they have been trying to help, change and develop things for the better in Malaga. Please see below for the most recent Presidents reports. If you wish to ask Frank anything, please feel free to contact the office and we will do the best we can to make sure your questions is answered. Bi-Monthly report February 2015 Following the last AGM I would warmly like to give a big welcome to our new committee members who are already hard at it to create bigger & better Association for members in 2015. Rachel Giovannetti resigned late last year from the position of Business Manager to take a well-earned break. On behalf of the committee I would like to give a very sincere thank you to Rachel for the great effort she put into the MDBA. The MDBA is very fortunate to have been able to appoint Clive Haddow as the Associations CEO. Clive comes to us with a vast amount of experience having been the CEO of the Joondalup Business Association over the past 3 years. Please feel free to contact Clive should you need help on any issues that may impact on your business. The 2015 MDBA Business Excellence Awards sub-committee chaired by our treasurer Tracy Teo is well on its way planning this event to be the best ever. Should any member or Malaga business like to be the main sponsor or to sponsor an award category please contact Tracy or Clive to discuss the matter. On other issues concerning the Malaga area, our Vice President Felicity Orr is on the Construction reference group for the Northlink project and I have recently joined the CRG for the Reid Highway /Malaga Drive Interchange project. Both these works will impact on the Malaga area and both Felicity and myself will endeavour to represent the views of the Malaga Business Community. I encourage Malaga Businesses to Join the MDBA and engage with the other 2200 plus businesses in the area. STRENGHTH IS IN NUMBERS Help us to help you See more

02.01.2022 Notice to MDBA members As per our constitution the MDBA committee is giving all members the required 30 days notice for a Special General Meeting to be held on 14th April 2015. The special general meeting will form part of our Monthly Business Breakfast Club event.... The following motions are to be considered. 1. Consideration of membership fees to be increased to $275 (incl GST) An increase in fees was minuted at our AGM last year. Justification This increase will bring the MDBA into line with other similar size associations. The ongoing costs of supplying services to our members is continually increasing and for the MDBA to supply and deliver quality events and services it was felt that this is a reasonable increase considering our catchment area. 2. Consideration that all new members will incur an Administration fee of $60 (this is a once only payment to assist in the costs of establishment of new members.) Justification The MDBA has limited resources and this one off admin fee is to establish the new member in our members directory and setup costs. This fee is standard with other associations. 3. Consideration that membership will now apply from date of joining for a period of 12 months. Justification With the current pro rata arrangement the MDBA has reduced income and it was considered to have our cash flow spread over a 12 period rather than all renewals being in June each year. 4. Consider any changes that need to be made to our constitution. Justification Audit our constitution to see if any changes are required to support these motions. Look forward to seeing many of you at our Special General Meeting on the 14th April 2015. If you have any queries or questions feel free to contact Clive Haddow on 08/92482526.
