25.01.2022 Pizza and music at Maldon Primary School!!! Get along for lunch!!

25.01.2022 The timing of our netting canopy being trashed in a storm, and impending cherry season means our trees have no protection from birds this year. I think it is unlikely that we will be open for farm gate sales this year :-( However, if this changes, there will be a massive alert posted here, together with local advertising. You'll all probably just hear me whooping and hollering with glee without any extra notices!! Apologies to our many regular visitors to the farm; fingers crossed for a better year next year.

25.01.2022 This week at the Maldon Market: free Biotraps for your Queensland Fruit Fly monitoring. That's not a typo!!! They really are FREE!! Along with information on how to do your bit to keep our lovely town free of QFF. Harcourt Valley Landcare has received funding from the Mount Alexander Shire Council Community Grant to run a project titled "Where is the fly? A pilot citizen science program for monitoring Queensland fruit fly in Harcourt and Maldon." The aim for the project... is to both raise awareness about QFF and to establish a monitoring program for hotspots within the region. Ross Watson is working on behalf of Harcourt Valley Landcare as the project organiser and monitoring coordinator for this project and is bringing the traps over on Sunday Morning. Together we're giving away traps with information on how to use them, monitor them, and what to do if you find a pesky QFF. Let's enjoy our home grown fruit by keeping QFF at bay. And of course, while you're there, you can buy up all sorts of wonderful edibles and gifts from the wonderful Maldon Market. See you there! :-)

21.01.2022 Don’t let the rain put you off! Let your inner child out to enjoy the puddles and play in the rain - who knows when we will have the chance next!

20.01.2022 Not sure if your fire plan is as good as it could be? Bring your questions along to an info session to see how you can best keep safe on days like the recent shocker!

19.01.2022 Hope to see lots of folk at the Queensland Fruit Fly information sessions. Here are the details for the Maldon event - other events in Newstead and Castlemaine are also being held (check for details on the Shire Facebook page). https://www.facebook.com/events/433304617358735/

14.01.2022 Many of you will already be familiar with the cooking goodness of Maddie Hudson from the local community lunches. Here she is offering help with Christmas lunch!

11.01.2022 ***** WOW!!! Messenger and phone have been running hot! That is all the regular orders we can have at present. Thanks so much for your support! There are some new chook'ns arriving in July, so watch this space for when extra eggs roll into the nests! Thanks again! **** Well, the chooks aren’t letting a few frosts slow them down! If you’re in Maldon and would like to have fresh, free-range eggs delivered send me a message or call 0403-016-040. Delivered Wednesday afternoon, our flock of hens have the run of acres, kept safe by our beautiful Maremma dogs. Many of our girls are rescues; they enjoy a long life here with our no cull commitment. $6 a dozen. Regular or occasional orders welcome.

11.01.2022 Four very full trailer loads of compost! The chooks, and goats, and cows (but mostly the chooks!!) have been very busy.

09.01.2022 Apologies to people trying to contact me on the phone this week to put in their egg orders. Telstra outage continues until... sometime yet to be confirmed. I can still be contacted here on Facebook or email ([email protected]). Hopefully it is back up and running soon.

09.01.2022 A wonderful opportunity made available by local elder Uncle Rick Nelson.

07.01.2022 Looking for something wonderful to do with the youngsters?? Get along!

07.01.2022 So, the chooks have slowed down on the eggs - some are moulting, some are clucky, some have just said goodbye to egg laying days. Anyway, it has meant juggling egg orders a bit. People were kindly waiting a couple of days for their two dozen googies and then Mack struck. Sometimes temptation is too much for puppies.

06.01.2022 Save the date and get your thoughts for Maldon into the mix.

03.01.2022 While you can still purchase your raffle tickets at places in town, you don't need to make a trip! Here they are online. Supporting some of Maldon's community groups and services - no need to miss out just because of some physical distancing!

02.01.2022 Missing the wonderful Community Lunch? Well, get behind this awesome initiative! A big thank you to all involved in getting delicious meals out to the community. A champion effort!

02.01.2022 Remember, if you're on the "egg list" for Wednesday afternoon, I'm going shopping tomorrow morning. Let me know if you would like me to pick up some things to save you a trip out. Keep safe, be kind.

01.01.2022 Fund raising and fun! This afternoon at the Maldon Neighbourhood Centre.

01.01.2022 If you have time tomorrow afternoon, and feel inspired to get crafty and help out our over-worked animal welfare carers with some items to help out come along! Carers are really under the pump at present with the devastation of the fires.
