25.01.2022 Maleny RFB start training again tonight...with a difference. In order to comply with COVID19 restrictions we will only be training in groups of 10, at different times and locations. So if you see us out & about give us a socially appropriate wave. While we always welcome new members at the moment that's just not possible. Be patient and we will back in full force on July 15. As always we are ready to respond to emergencies

24.01.2022 Kenilworth Rural Fire Brigade is open this Saturday morning for training. If your a local and would like to join our team please call in and check out the station and the trucks or have a chat This Saturday the 28th. Come on locals support you're Fire Brigade.

23.01.2022 What a beautiful day for some hazard reduction burning. Our crews have been out and about over the last two days. These stack/broadacre burns are a great way for our firefighters to hone in their skills.

23.01.2022 Training wednesdays. Tonight we split into two groups. All of our new members who are undertaking FMS training were honing their skills in on the trucks. While our established members went through some team building exercises. We topped off the night with some station cleaning and vehicle maintenance/ checks.

23.01.2022 It may be wet outside but the team keep working. Two of our officers, Jak & Leah, met with the good people of Meadow Lane today to offer advice & answer questions. Great work team

22.01.2022 Building bonds & familiarity. Introducing the new (and not so new) members to our Fire & Rescue colleagues and their kit.

22.01.2022 LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION If we’re called to attend your property, it’s essential we know where we’re going! Display a prominent house or lot number at th...e main entrance to your property. It’s also important there’s adequate access for our fire appliances at least 4 metres wide by 4 metres high, with a turn-around area. The faster we can find you, the faster we can help you.

22.01.2022 This why we train in Fire Behaviour and Situational Awareness! It's the fine art of knowing when to stay...and when to leave. Stay safe out there

22.01.2022 If there is anyone who lives towards Kenilworth please consider joining the great team at the RFS out there

21.01.2022 Your Fuel = Your Fire. Rural Fire Brigades are there to provide assistance to you.

21.01.2022 So some of the crew did a little social isolation project. The Blinding Lights Challenge has been popular with Emergency Services crews all over the world. Well done team!!! So here’s a challenge to all our other colleagues in QFES (RFS, F&R and SES). But particularly the crew from 484A & Maleny SES

21.01.2022 Personally I think it's a brilliant idea ABC Radio will be broadcasting from 05:30 hrs including the Last Post at 06:00 hrs and the minutes silence

21.01.2022 In memory of all the fallen.

20.01.2022 This week is National Volunteer Week! Whilst we cannot yet have a large celebration to honour all of our incredible volunteers, we can still acknowledge and tha...nk them for all of their selfless, dedicated work. Our communities wouldn’t be what they are without them, and we are so grateful for those who put in so many hours, often unnoticed, to help make our communities the best they can be! Let’s use this space to share, honour, thank and acknowledge some of the incredible volunteers you know this week. (I’ve tagged just some below to get you started! I know there are dozens more!) Emergency services, Community Groups, Schools, churches, local events, support networks, and the list goes on! And from me, and enormous THANK YOU for all of your selfless, dedicated work, bringing our communities together and helping us thrive. #yourcommunityvoice Rocky Creek Scout Camp Landsborough Scout Group Beerwah Rural Fire Brigade Glass House Mountains Rural Fire Brigade Landsborough Rural Fire Brigade Landsborough - love where we live Celebrate Glasshouse Country Glasshouse Country RSL Sub Branch Inc Glasshouse Mountains Sports Club Beerwah Sportsground QCWA Beerwah Mooloolah River Landcare Landsborough Cricket Club Glass House Mountains Neighbourhood Centre Aura Connected Glasshouse Country Chamber of Commerce Inc. 18.01.2022 It’s Yellow Ribbon Day! A day to show our support to our hard-working Rural Fire Service (RFS) volunteers On this day last year, they were already on the fron...t-line fighting devastating fires near Stanthorpe in the state’s south-west and Binna Burra in the south-east. There’s more than 30,000 of them across the state and we can’t thank them enough for all they do. Binna Burra bushfire 2019

17.01.2022 9 degrees on the hill tonight, a great night for joint training with our colleagues from Fire & Rescue. 12.01.2022 VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER + HIGH WINDS on Saturday.....please don’t light any fires....surely it can wait another week? While their is not a fire ban, if a fire escapes under these conditions it will be extremely hard to put out.

11.01.2022 Don’t be a bright spark. High winds & dry bush are very unforgiving!! Be careful with fire.Don’t be a bright spark. High winds & dry bush are very unforgiving!! Be careful with fire.

09.01.2022 Long story short -- stay at home and away from others as much as you can. A handy guide from Queensland Police Service.

09.01.2022 We had a crew out and about this afternoon performing some stack burns, even with the cooler weather we managed to get a good burn done. Smiles all round.

09.01.2022 Help us to help you. PLEASE DON’T light ANY fires over the next week!! At present there are no bans but any fires that escape will be EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to contain.

07.01.2022 Hi Folks We haven't said anything for while, so what's happening with us? In line with QFES policy we have suspended all non-essential activities. So that means no training, no community engagement activities and no Hazard Reduction Burns by the crews. This doesn't mean your Permit to Light has been cancelled, it simply means the RFB can not conduct your burn.... We are still responding to fires. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE: If you can: please stay at home, maintain your social distancing and wash your hands. Look after each other and get your information from a reputable source: https://www.qld.gov.au//conditions/he/coronavirus-covid-19

07.01.2022 Something to think about

07.01.2022 Thanks to Thank You Fireys Inc for coming up to Maleny on the weekend. ps...some of our members are a little camera shy

06.01.2022 Heads up, Queensland. You may see our personnel wearing protective face masks and gloves over the coming weeks and months as we respond to incidents across the... state. Due to the nature of our work, we can’t always maintain distance between ourselves and those who need our help so it’s important we wear this personal protective equipment in an effort to stop the spread of #COVID19. This is a standard safety measure for both the community and our crews during a pandemic, so we can maintain critical fire and rescue services to the community. Rest assured, QFES is continuing to maintain a responsive and effective service across Queensland during these challenging times.

06.01.2022 It's been a year of challenges for the team at Maleny Rural Fire. We started with crews being deployed to NSW & the ACT, faced the challenges of training new members during Covid and crews helping out with the Fraser Island fires. As always the crews got in and got the work done. Thanks to all the team, their families and our supporters. We hope you have a very Merry Christmas

05.01.2022 As the COVID-19 outbreak evolves, know that help and support remains available for individuals and families affected by domestic and family violence. Keep in touch with your friends and family, and if you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, reach out for help.

02.01.2022 IMPORTANT MESSAGE Do you know this person?: http://facebook.com/profile.php?=73322363 QFES are concerned they have not yet prepared their home for bushfire ...season. Take some simple steps below to prep your home: Remove leaves, leaf litter, clean gutters, trim branches, keep lawns short. Reach out to your local fire warden if you need assistance. Prepare or maintain your Bushfire Survival Plan.

02.01.2022 Due to COVID19 and the restrictions which are still in place we are still unable to start training again at the moment or undertake hazard reduction burns. As soon as the restrictions have been lifted and we have been advised by the Rural Fire Service that we can recommence we will let you know. We are always available to respond to an incident.
