25.01.2022 Mystery object time. What is this?

23.01.2022 How many local museums and historic sites may have been lost or damaged in the fires? It seems inevitable and very sad.

21.01.2022 On the 25th August 2019 we lost my uncle Lance Tiller after a brief fight with cancer. (below is small video tribute I put together showing some of his rides i...n the Xmas Pageant) Lance was born in Hamley Bridge and lived in Gawler on Twelfth Street with his Dad for many years. As an adult, he became a master painter and ran the Gawler business, 'Tiller Brothers Painting' with my Dad Rodney, in the 1960s. He married Brenda (nee Hancock of Wasleys) and together they lived on Dean Street, Gawler with their daughter Alison. Lance later married Nancy, and together they explored Australia later living in Port Parham, Mildura and for a while Middle Beach, then Salisbury. Lance was perhaps proudest of his long association with the Adelaide Christmas Pageant, riding his penny-farthing for many decades, until one year, a person in a dog costume knocked him from his bike, seriously injuring himwhich later caused his retirement in 2008. At least one of Lances Penny-farthing are now in the Mallala Museum Rest in Peace Uncle Lance Tiller

21.01.2022 Although the Museum has not been open for a few months, there has been plenty of activity behind the scenes

19.01.2022 The Museum is open every Sunday from 2 to 4.30pm. However, it will be closed on December 22nd and Sunday December 29th.

17.01.2022 The Mallala Museum regretfully will not be taking any bookings for group visits until further notice. We will still open on Sundays from 2 to 4.30pm as usual.

12.01.2022 How cool are these? 4GB USB cards now available for purchase from the Museum. Only $10

08.01.2022 It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of our Committee member and long time volunteer, Margaret Tiller. She died last night at the Mary Potter Hospice. Many of you have probably already heard the sad news. She had been unwell for some time but still carried on an active role within the Museum and, I am sure, many other roles as well. Margaret was a tireless advocate for the Museum.... She undertook any role enthusiastically. The Museum would not be what it is today without her input. The amount of work which Margaret dedicated to the Museum both as a Committee member, officer bearer, school excursion volunteer and behind the scenes is immeasurable. She will be sadly missed. 06.01.2022 Lest we forget. The Museum will be open following the Remembrance Day ceremony on Monday 11th.

05.01.2022 The schoolroom has had a coat of paint!

04.01.2022 The Mallala Museum will be closed until further notice. We regret any inconvenience caused by this decision.
