22.01.2022 Good Morning Everyone, For the time being Mal’s Hire is open but with a few changes to how we operate. In line with the Government laws we ask you phone ahead to book in a time slot to collect or drop off hire equipment. This is to reduce more than one custom being served at a time and to ensure we are complying with the social distancing guidelines. ... Where possible customers can remain in their vehicle for loading and unloading of hire equipment. If there is more than one custom in the shop please wait outside or in your car until there is space to serve you safely. We ask that all transactions be via ETFPOS or the correct money be given (please ask for hire costs when you ring) We disinfecting all hire equipment. Please ring 03 62297666 or email [email protected] We thank you for your understanding, patient and support. Regards Terry & Spencer

21.01.2022 Kingborough Mayor, Dean Winter, has announced the upcoming free green waste weekend will not go ahead. The Free Green Waste weekend was scheduled for 25 & 26 Ap...ril. Our free green waste weekends are always really popular, Cr Winter said. We would typically see thousands of people coming through the gate to dispose of their green waste on these weekends. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate so many people on the site and observe the important social distancing rules that are now in place. Both Bruny Island and Barretta Waste Transfer Stations remain open and have measures in place to ensure social distancing can take place during normal trade. You can still dispose of green waste at any time. We simply do not want to encourage a large number of people to descend upon the transfer station on one weekend during the COVID-19 pandemic. A contractor has been selected to deliver the kerbside green waste collection commencing from 1 July. However, there are some challenges in commencing on this date due to the current Tasmanian border restrictions. There may delay this implementation for 3-6 months. We will let everyone know as soon as the commencement date is known. 16.01.2022 On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, the guns of the western front fell silent. Today, on the anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I, we remember those who both served and died. From a population of fewer than five million, 416,809 Australians enlisted, of whom more than 60,000 were killed and 156,000 wounded, gassed or taken prisoner. Thank you all who serve both past and present. We salute and honour you.
