22.01.2022 On Friday October the 25th we were honoured to host Michael O'Brien, Leader of the Opposition, Leader of the Liberal Party and State Member for Malvern. Michal visited with Annette Turnbull (Electorate Officer) and presented MELCC with a donation of the Victorian Aboriginal Flag. Michael was very engaged with the children answering their questions and asking questions of them. Michael explained to the children the meaning of the colours. Black represents the Aboriginal People of Australia, Red represents the red earth and Yellow represents the Sun. All we require now is the Australian Flag and we will be able to fly them with pride! It was a pleasure to host Michael and Annette for the morning. See below for some photos of the morning.

20.01.2022 Great news just in: a #TelstraKids grant is coming our way for our Playing Safe in the baby outdoor environment. We're super excited as we'll use this for Malvern community childcare funding to repair, upgrade and rejuvenate the outdoor play area so the baby's are able to explore, play and learn in a fun & safe environment outside. Thanks @Telstra_news and a HUGE thank you Riki-Ann Steele from Telstra for nominating us with out your support we couldn't have made this happen! Watch this space

10.01.2022 Last week MELCC had the amazing Annette Sax from Yarn Strong Sista come and faciliate workshop 9 - Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. The workshop discussed the three elements of the VEYLDF which include practise principles, outcomes and transition and continuity of learning. The educators thoroughly enjoyed learning The Aboriginal Hokey Pokey as well as exploring with some beautiful Ochre gifted to us by Annette. MELCC Director and Educators would like to take this time to also thank our amazing committee for our ongoing support for further professional development!

06.01.2022 Over the last week the children have been busy creating cards with messages for the residents at Regis Aged Care - Armadale to let them know we are thinking of them. Today we dropped them off along with some flowers and chocolates for the wonderful staff to brighten up their days.
