25.01.2022 Too often #postpartum equates to cold tea & toast. Traditionally a #NewbornMother would be cooked for, she would be served warm nourishing foods to help her body repair, to nourish her so in turn she can nourish her baby. A new mother would not cook for herself. #MotheringtheMother is a tradition much lost in our culture & with it the many benefits. Providing #nourishment gives her strength for the long days & nights, building blocks so she in turn can offer her #newbornbab...y the most #nutritious feed without her body becoming depleted. There are important factors to consider when cooking for a new Mother - -warm slow cooked food that is easy for her to digest -nutrition dense foods, rich in good fats, collagen, high in vitamins & minerals. Food, the ultimate gift provides love & support wrappped up in a package honouring her needs. A new Mother should not have to cook for herself. If family & friends live close by cooking for her can be the most considerate gift. If she lives further away organising meal vouchers delivered by local businesses who understand nutritious cooking can work wonders....or a postpartum doula who understands food. With some 20 years background as chef before moving to support Mothers, my love for & understanding of food is core in my care & beliefs. Both from the perspective of joy & that #foodismedicine I love to cook for new Mamas. Helping them to meal plan food that is both comfort in this time & healing to her soul & transition to Motherhood. Cooking in her home means she has some fresh meals ready or basic preparation for coming day or meals for her freezer or snacks. Cooking for a new mother for me is the ultimate in Mothering the Mother. It takes me back to my roots. It makes me happy. Both in my postpartum rescue packages or longer in home support packages, cooking is always an option. Not compulsory. The days' care depends on the Mothers needs and wants, but guarantee there is pretty much ALWAYS a little food involved. What could possibly be more valued...although a #postpartummassage can create confusion in what comes first.... Lucky with me you can get both. ;-) To learn more about mama care, please message me ask

21.01.2022 You might feel it all the time. Or maybe just when you run or jump or lift heavy objects? Maybe when you've been unwell, coughing or sneezing too much (although... if you are currently coughing or sneezing we will need to ask you to reach out to us by phone and we can chat to you there and help you make a plan for when you are well. Sorry ;-) ) So often I hear a postpartum Mama say things "just don't feel right down there", but aren't quite sure what or why? Sometimes it just doesn't feel right when trying to share a 'special adult cuddly' moment with partners, and you have no idea why? Chances are you may have a bit of a prolapse. Or a lot of a prolapse....you see there are different grades in prolapse. Different levels of severity. How severe does it need to be before you should seek help you ask?? Well, if it is uncomfortable or impacts your life in any way that you do not like, I would say it validates seeking the proper help. Will it right itself in time..... go away on it's own? Well, maybe....or it just might stick around, or worsen with age. Don't be the mum that lives with this as your new norm until many years later you need to do something because it is worse. Be proactive now and right things before you have more things to right.....or learn what you can do to recognise a prolapse, or hopefully avoid one at all If things are not feeling right in your body, please never be afraid to ask. To seek help. And if the person you asked seems to have no idea and says "you just had a baby"....well maybe....but how long should you allow that to be said to you? You know if your body does not feel right and you have a right to ask. Who do you ask? My advise is reach out to a professional who has good knowledge of a postpartum Mama. Good knowledge of what a healthy core and pelvic floor is, and how to check it, and how to restore it....let me tell you this is not a topic covered in detail for every medical and health person out there. It is very much a specialty topic where a whole bunch of factors need to be considered. Seeking out someone who gets it...worth the the investment in time and $$ Lucky for you this Monday we have a woman full of knowledge on the topics of core and pelvic floor and and the postpartum mama joining us, willing to listen, willing to speak, willing to help you recognise what 'not feels right' might mean for you....and to offer you guidance in steps you can take to right that for yourself so you can live your best life. Join myself, Sissy of Absolute Potential Health & Performance and some beautiful Mamas this Monday for discussion, connection, support and yummy Morning Tea. Motherhood is so much better with company Book now as we are filling up fast Xx

20.01.2022 Not all my clients are pregnant/postpartum.....some come in for regular remedial care too....some are for both.... I love working with regular clients who understand the benefit of regular massage. Because it is not just a feel good luxury service. It is about your body (and mind) care and repair. Massage is about body maintenance, it is about giving yourself permission to matter and be cared for, permission to switch off mentally and let someone else look after you, for the ...briefest time. But when that brief time is a regular appointment, my clients quickly become friends, and seeing the progress on their body, and on how they recognise their body's needs always makes me smile. Thank you to the beautiful Andrea, my regular fortnightly remedial client for always lifting me up in spirits as much as I support you. And thank you for taking the time to send these kind words to me. You made my day. Xx " I found Mama Blooming and I couldn’t be happier. I have loved every massage and I have physically benefited from every massage. Last week I visited for my regular massage with only about 50% movement in my neck and I was in quite a bit of pain. Sharon you worked your miracle and when I left I had about 80% movement back. The next morning I had 95% movement thanks to your massage and after care advice. I was able to drive back out to work. I highly recommend you Sharon to anyone looking for a great massage therapist" Thank you lovely Xx

18.01.2022 Missing our last class of Mamas already. These ladies and bubs have been so special in my weekly connections. Its been just over a week since we finished class and just under before meeting our new crew. . With so much space in our nest we can comfortably spread out and connect whilst respecting our own little bubble.....Such a weird thing to say for a group class that usually overlaps cuddles and physical space. But we do what me must to make it work and still be able to mee...t face to face, and the other mama connections are no less special....perhaps even moreso as we all have an increased value in being so privileged as to physically meet face to face. . 15.01.2022 So this week this kid folded all the washing, set up my massage table, and gave me a 25 minute back massage...that felt bloody good. And was exactly what I needed. Physically, mentally and emotionally PROOF - if you persist with giving your kids massage, you will reap the rewards ... Seriously tho, proof I am blessed with a beautiful, caring, empathetic soul. Not sure what I did to deserve such magic in my life, but I sure am grateful for her. 14.01.2022 There is nothing more valuable you can give your children than a feeling of safety to explore and grow I had the best fun watching this bub yesterday in class. Altho she was not engaging with mum 100%, this was because her bright and active little mind was taking in EVERYTHING else. The strange lady next to her that talks alot ... The dolly the strange lady was playing with. The bub lying next to her (whilst socially respecting her distance) And the super fun playmat full of bright colours she was lying on. All the while looking around, Miss M comfortably presented her one leg after the other to mum, obviously now familiar with massage time and loving it. As she moved (constantly) around looking at her world she lapped up her massage. . She lay still for her tummy and chest and preferred to sit up for a bit and watch as her arms were massaged. . Her brain today was busy learning and her body language told a story of trust and secuity and total joy in her mummy massage time, confident mum would continue whilst she safely explored. . And then right as we finished massage, she delighted us in showing what she had been thinking and working on all this time.... And she rolled from her back to tummy for the first time. Very proud of herself. As were we all so impressed. Clever, active, feeling safe and secure to explore and grow..... . #babymassage #infantmentalhealth #mamalove #thesimplethings #thesemoments #slowdown #mindfulparenting #motherhood #mamablooming #mamacare #mamacircle #mamatribe #findyourtribe #village #mama #supported #growinguptoofast

09.01.2022 Who thinks they might like to revisit these summit speakers? This summit was brought about to support the first lockdown in Australia, and although the talks are in general support for the pregnant and postpartum family, the underlying focus does revolve around adapting that to Covid. I cannot help but feel there is still such a need. These speakers offer such a collective that bring to you knowledge, science, support, empathy, wisdom and an underlying message......take the information you hear and then do what resonates best for you and your family....and that's related to this summit. And life in general. If you are interested in hearing these speakers again, please let me know. They are archived and it's a crying shame to have so much support sitting unheard. Xx

08.01.2022 Wrapping up week 5 with this amazing group of ladies ...and bubs. These ladies came as a package deal after doing hypnobirthing together with the gorgeous @joymamma_ . Their bond already formed, together they signed up themselves and all their girls (not a single boy in this crew) and joined me for baby massage. . Wanting to be together, and such a large crowd the only way we could make it happen without splitting them up was for 1 mama to volunteer her super large room in h...er home for us to come together. . Already they are the aunties to each others babies. The sounding board , support and cheersquad to each others questions, challenges and wins. They are something special together and the very image of why I love to host mama circles....to provide opportunity to allow these kind of connections to grow. . No doubt they will all be celebrating 10yrs together in no time, just as I will be doing in less than a year...if the world allows it ....because the years fly by so fast in good company . . #mamatribe #findyourtribe #ittakesavillage #Motherhood #babymassage #mamablooming #mamacircle #familybychoice #this See more
07.01.2022 I finally got to meet this gorgeous lady face to face earlier this week (after months of of chatting via zoom, phone or messages) Sissy of @absolutepotentialhp joined our Mama Circle where we talked many (impossible to talk all) things core and pelvic floor. Okay so we defintely leaned more toward pelvic floor talk as this is what was needed to meet our Mamas needs. But for me, my most fave take home, I did not know bit of knowledge was on our core, and the importance of our... diet. As Sissy is a nutritionist as well as pelvic health physio (+a bunch of other stuff) she is able to bring all the bits together for you in such a holistic way. So how does your diet matter? (to loosely paraphrase.....) When we eat an inflammatory diet, all that inflammation in our gut fires off messages into surrounding tissue (our core) that switches off its ability to work properly. It was likened to when you have a really sore knee, and sometimes that pain causes your knee to just give out....it just doesnt hold your weight to walk sometimes.....so an inflammatory diet can cause a similar 'switch off' effect in your core!!!! Aren't our bodies totally amazing!!!! . I don't think I've heard anything too recently that have made me want to focus so much on mending my diet... well anything new to me that motivates in a fresh way Thank you Sissy for openly sharing so much information with these ladies. And myself Thank you too to the ladies for openly sharing what can be really awkward topics to speak freely about....you now likely know more personal things about each other than some of your oldest friends. (and I loved that you all swapped numbers at the end to keep in touch) Now I urge you to continue speaking freely with other Mamas so we can bring greater awareness that you do not have to just live with difficult 'stuff' happening to your body just because you had a baby.... For everyone else, it's never too late to reach out and ask questions...... about anything . For core and pelvic floor stuff, Sissy is open and ready to support you in your postpartum. And Im here for a whole bunxh of pregnancy and pp stuff too. Just reach out xx . . #coreandpelvicfloor #mamacircle
01.01.2022 Meet Sissy Taufika of @absolutepotentialhp. Sissy will be joining us next week to bring her wisdom and years of study to our circle Now I know a women's circle is traditionally about sharing our company, thoughts and feelings WITHOUT the need for anyone to fix anything. But we are bending the rules with this one. We are combining mama circle meets support in ways we need and deserve and too often don't know how to ask. When it comes to the topic of core and pelvic floor, preg...nant and postpartum mamas are impacted in so many ways, many of which are embarrassing to ask. But not for Sissy.... Chatting with Sissy is easy. And fun. I feel any mama finding discomfort, feeling 'different' or unsure of how her body has changed and is healing...or not....any mum worried about incontinence, prolapse, diastasis, weakness or general discomfort....any mum wanting to get back to more intense exercise but not sure their postpartum body can manage it.....or simply curious to learn more as their pregnant belly grows.....you could certainly benefit from joining our circle and hearing some very positive ways that you may be able to address your challenges. I know these are topics that no one wants to talk about, and if you are feeling embarrassed, we got that covered too. I am very happy to share your experiences or fears for you anonymously and you can just listen. But I promise you, they are way more common than you think, and we need to start making that known. Because by sharing, we are reducing those feelings of isolation. We are raising awareness and connecting community. We are so lucky to have Sissy joining us. I can help some, but her wealth of knowledge....well it is advanced expertise in a fun and casual circle where you connect with other mums AND get to share yummy morning tea. It is going to be a really special morning. Please do join us to speak all about the 'unspeakables'. It's more fun than you'd think. ps. This one is booking fast, so jump in quick while there is still space pps.
