20.01.2022 Molecular Approaches to Malaria 2020 will be Carbon Neutral. We're working with Pangolin Associates Pty Ltd to achieve #carbonneutral certification from the Australian Government once the conference ends Walter and Eliza Hall Institute Burnet Institute #ClimateChange #MAM2020

17.01.2022 MAM2020 is now certified by the Australian Government as Carbon Neutral through Climate Active. To be certified #carbonneutral, MAM2020 reduced its carbon footprint where possible & invested in carbon offsets to prevent 1500 tons of CO2 emissions, equivalent to the CO2 produced by all return ground & air travel & all food/drinks/electricity consumed by all 450 delegates. We invested in Australian and International projects that remove carbon from the atmosphere to offset e...missions we couldn't eliminate. We purchased carbon offsets from: 1, Aboriginal Carbon Foundation to support Australian Indigenous social & cultural core benefits; 2, India Solar to displace electricity generated by Indian thermal power stations; 3, REDD+ sustainable forestation in Brazilian Amazon (Amapá). These initiatives were selected due to the MAM2020 conference location in Australia and #malaria being endemic in parts of India and Brazil, including Amapá. #MAM2020 #carbonneutral #ClimateAction
