24.01.2022 We have a plan! Finally we are able to share with you all that we have a a plan for our reopening! The bad news is that it wont be until early August (I know, were sorry ). The good news is that well have a lovely new home for our business (still in Devonport) and we are planning to come back stronger and better! ... As you know, we moved out of our Henry St premises at the start of the COVID-19 shut down period. That has made our comeback a little more challenging as our business was homeless and with seemingly few alternative options . It hasnt just been a matter of reopening our doors. We looked at a few interim options to start back sooner, but nothing quite worked out. In the end we made the decision to hold of that wee bit longer and make sure we are fully prepared to launch when we open our fresh, new clinic! We can confirm that all our therapists will be back on deck ( Andrew, Caroline and Karla). Well start talking bookings mid July. In coming weeks well be announcing a few very exciting additions and changes, so watch this space! We hope everyone had a happy day on this lovely winter solstice! We had an icy swim after our morning run.... nothing quite like it to make you feel alive! And bring on the longer days!

22.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENT In light of the coronavirus spread and the uncertainty that surrounds all businesses at the moment, we have come to the very difficult decision to close our business indefinitely. Due to the hands on nature of our work, it is simply not possible to adjust our business to adhere to current government stipulations for social distancing. We support government calls to limit non-essential travel or gatherings. We therefore cannot without moral ...compromise, or disregard of civic responsibility, continue to operate our business at this time. We feel for the leaders of our state and our country at this point, having to make incomprehensibly significant decisions for our country and our people. We are facing an enemy about which we know very little, and which therefore limits our ability to effectively combat the threat it poses. We choose to tread on the side of caution and we applaud other local businesses who are now taking this courageous step too. The closure of our business means that we are cutting off the only source of income our family has. Of course, this is a huge leap of faith and we can only hope we can find the resources we need to keep a roof over our heads and to feed our family until we can reopen our doors. If we can achieve that, then we see it as a very good result. At this point we can only live in hope that we can beat this virus and all rise from the ashes of this current economic destruction in about 6 months, renewed and ready to thrive again. 13.01.2022 As with many best laid plans, our reopening has hit a couple of minor stumbling points. We had hoped to be in a position to announce our new plans last Friday, but the champagne has been put on ice for another two weeks. Next Friday 21st August we hope to be able announce our new clinic location, new branding for our business and a few other little surprises. Well also start making contact with all those clients whose appointments were canceled pre-closure and work through our waiting list. 08.01.2022 There is lots of news about Coronavirus (COVID-19), but not a whole lot of clear advice for businesses like ours. We have therefore developed our own interim response. It is based on the best information available and aimed to err on the side of caution to protect our clients and ourselves, and to prevent the spread of infection within our community. While the risks of COVID-19 dont appear to be cause for panic, we feel a sense of responsibility to protect the most vulnerab...le in our community. We have many immunocompromised clients, including elderly and people with cancer. We also have a daughter with a heart condition. ***We therefore ask that anybody who has travelled to a high or moderate risk country, to please contact us to reschedule massage appointments to a minimum of 14 days after your return. *** We have done a screenshot of the current Australian Government information in the comments about country classifications, but please check the list on the website link in the comments too, as the list will change as new information comes to light. COVID-19 can live outside the body for a few hours and up to several days, according to the World Health Organisation. We always change our towels and face crest covers between each client and this will remain even more important now. Its never a good idea to come for a massage when you are unwell anyway. It can put strain on your own body while its fighting infection, and places others at risk of infection. 08.01.2022 Every week we encounter people who have experienced trauma of varying types. Trauma and stress is really noticeable in the body and in peoples muscles. There are often extremely tight bands of muscle, often all over the body, and often leading to pain, fatigue and headaches. It is a great privilege to care for the bodies of people who have been through so much, gently coaxing their muscles to relax and release. Self care is just so important and necessary.

05.01.2022 I had the most glorious day yesterday, smashing up the front lawn ready for some new gardens. Not only was it the most perfect spring day, but I got to talk to so many passers by, many of whom live in the local area and wanted to stop and welcome us to the neighbourhood. Everyone was seemingly in top spirits! Lots of jokes and laughs were had and lots of people looking forward to coming to try out the business once we get going. We could have made a killing selling the bbq sausages that we were cooking up on the verandah! So lovely to see it all starting to take shape, especially with the builder on the job today for the first day of construction! Exciting, happy times!

05.01.2022 Hi all! I think the early minute on the easing of restrictions has taken us all a bit by surprise. As most of you would be aware, we are no longer at our Henry Street premises and as such, the picking up where we left off isnt quite as straight forward as just reopening our doors. Were hopeful to have a plan in coming days so if you can sit tight a wee bit longer, hopefully we can get the ball rolling as soon as possible! 05.01.2022 Unveiling our new business name and logo! We have utilised the forced shut down over the last few months to develop new branding shaped by our business values and our future goals. There has never been a more important time to support our local Tasmanian businesses, and we are making a very conscious shift towards doing that even more as we move forward with our business.... We plan to utilise Tasmanian-made, natural products as much as we possibly can throughout our business, from spa products, to retail products and art and crafts. We are blessed with wonderful natural resources and makers here in Tasmania and we hope to be able to showcase and celebrate these at Spa House Tasmania. We are also branching out into a more comprehensive boutique spa menu to complement our existing massage therapy services. We aim to create a sanctuary right in the heart of Devonport, where local residents and tourists can come to be pampered and cared for. As business owners, we love nothing more than seeing our clients walk away feeling more relaxed and in less pain and we love to go that extra mile to make a simple massage treatment into a memorable experience. Incorporating spa services will create more diverse offerings to meet the demands of our clients. We are currently advertising for a Spa Manager to come on board and help us shape this side of our business and we will be in a position to announce more details about services once we have filled this position. 03.01.2022 Yes, you heard right. While we have only been at our new location for a very short time, Mandala Therapies has grown beyond our wildest dreams and so very quickly. We are so grateful for the support our local community has shown our little business, especially since our big move away from our humble home clinic! Its been a huge few months for us, both personally and professionally. We have learned some big lessons through this whole experience. The biggest lesson perhaps be...ing that not everything in life is how it first seems. And like all the lessons worth learning, its been a bit of a hard one. Despite the challenges, we feel weve created something really special with our business and it makes us feel really excited to throw our heart and soul into the next leg of our journey. Weve been overwhelmed by the support and praise given by the many who have attended our clinic in recent months, and it is this that has given us the confidence we need to keep moving forwards.
