22.01.2022 Today marks the start of National Reconciliation Week, a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. Everyone has a role to play. Let’s build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures. 16.01.2022 On this day in 1992, our High Court made the historic decision that ‘native title’ does exist, following the courageous efforts of Eddie Koiki Mabo. Mabo fought to overturn terra nullius, a legal concept whereby Australia and the Torres Strait Islands were not owned by Indigenous peoples because they did not ‘use’ the land in ways Europeans believed constituted some kind of legal possession. Let’s remember Mabo and all Indigenous Australians who have empowered and inspired us. We’re #InThisTogether. #NRW2020 https://bit.ly/2XmIElK

12.01.2022 Today is National Sorry Day, where we acknowledge and pay respect to Indigenous people that were forcibly removed from their families. To borrow from @ReconciliationAus, our hope is that all Australians, whether they’ve been here for generations or just a short time, will take a moment today to recognise our Stolen Generations. We’re #InThisTogether. #NRW2020 https://www.reconciliation.org.au//19_5_20-lets-talk_sorry
