25.01.2022 In line with the WA Government's announcement last night, the Perth and Peel post-lockdown restrictions are set to be further eased further from 12:01am on Satu...rday 1 May 2021. The easing of restrictions will see Perth and Peel move closer to the return of pre-lockdown life, but a small number of transitional measures will remain in place until Saturday 8 May. The following eased transitional restrictions will take effect from 12:01am on Saturday 1 May until 12:01am on Saturday 8 May: Indoor and outdoor community sport can resume with spectators Masks are not required outside except where physical distancing is not possible Masks are mandatory for indoor public venues, including clubhouses, and the two square metre rule must be in place . Exemptions for mask wearing apply including for medical reasons and primary school aged children or younger. People should use common sense and take a mask with them whenever they leave home Outdoor gatherings can take place with up to 500 people without a COVID event plan Gyms and fitness centres can open with the two square metre rule in place, noting mask requirements Public venues, including community and recreation centres, can open with the two square metre rule in place Anyone who has been in the Perth or Peel regions since April 17 but has since travelled to another region must also wear a mask subject to the above conditions. This advice is subject to change in accordance with Government directives, so please follow our Facebook and Instagram pages for further updates. Pre-lockdown requirements for the rest of the state still remain in place

21.01.2022 Which grip do you use on your forehand? Forehand Tennis grips with position markers on the grip for the heel pad of the palm: 1. Continental (chopper/hammer) grip - the original grip for tennis used by players like Rod Laver and great for low bouncing balls on surfaces like grass. The heel pad of the palm rests on bevel 1 and 2. We now use this grips for serves, slices and volleys. 2. Eastern grip - allows for some topspin and gives the ability to hit flat hard shots, it also... allows for a lot of feel on the strokes. This grip was made famous by Bjorn Borg and used by players like Sampras and Federer who sometimes adjusts it more towards bevel 4 and closer to Semi-Western. 3. Semi-Western - the most used grip on the pro circuit allowing for great spin generation and power while the ability to maintain a high arc trajectory of a shot making the ball bounce higher off the court creating difficulties for the opponent. The ability to create the perfect amount of spin means players can accelerate through their shots more giving them more powerful strokes which dip before the baseline. Famously used by Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal who edges closer towards the western grip. 4. Western grip - used by players like Jack Sock, Kyle Edmund, Karen Khachanov and Nick Kyrgios. Gives a player a tremendous amount of topspin and the ability to deal with high balls while giving a player power of they use the wrist lag and snap correctly. . . . #tennis #tennisgrip #tennistechnique #tennislessons #tenniscoach #tennisforehand #forehand #tenniscoaching #lovetennis #mandurahtennis See more

Approximately 200 students had the opportunity to get on the court and have some coaching. This was a great success and we look forward to some new faces at the club. This is one of many schools that we attend throughout the year however this was the first high school program to encourage older children to get involved in tennis.
