25.01.2022 So last year I had the pleasure of being part of the officials team in Tokyo, Sydney and the first ever show in Shanghai, China. This weekend I am honoured to be a part of the officials team in another UFC first......Beijing, China! If you have UFC fight pass on your smart TV, tune in Saturday night 7:45pm!



25.01.2022 To my awesome Viper crew. I am sure, by now you have all heard the devastating news that all gyms have been closed . Whilst this does come as a set back, I am determined to see this through and come back better than ever. Thankfully I have an amazing client base whom I consider my second family and have been so supportive of me and Viper Fitness during this difficult time.... I have, and will continue to liaise with you independantly and provide with some options going forward. I will spend this week taking some necessary steps to plan not only my personal finances but a way where I can keep you all active and will deliver those next steps by the end of this week. I just want to say a big thank you to each and every one of you for your messages of support and understanding during this time and together, we will get through this. You are what keep my motivated and each and every one of you are an inspiration to me to keep on keeping on. They can sink the ship but they can't kill the captain! 21.01.2022 Had a great weekend in Melbourne working UFC243 and can honestly say, this was one of the biggest highlights of my career. I was assigned to some great fighters and had the pleasure of working with some big names. Guys life is just like your fitness journey, and like my awesome clients and friends here me say quite often.... "you really do get out what you put in". I am always striving to accomplish the best of everything I commit too and whilst I could easily say that I am... just lucky, I am going to be modest on this occasion and say that luck has nothing to do with it. I have followed the sport of MMA (in particular UFC) my whole adult life and I remember more than 20 years ago, clearing the lounge room out and wrestling my brother trying to emulate the legendary Royce Gracie back in the early 90s when UFC first started on VHS tape lol. I remember my brother and I always saying one day we would watch it live and more than 20yrs later, I would stumble across the opportunity to not only watch a live event, but to actually step inside the Octogon in Tokyo, Japan as a UFC official! I am proud of what I have achieved but the point to this post is...... No matter what it is, how big it is, where your from and what you do, don't ever quit. Don't ever think you are not good enough or say "it can never be done, never to me" because you know what....... That's just an excuse to not try! You can achieve anything you put your mind too, so work hard, stay focused, surround yourself with positive people, believe in yourself and great things will happen. There will be set backs, there will be times you just want to quit and give up, it will get hard but you really do control your destiny but only the resilient will succeed. 18.01.2022 Shout out to my client and friend Erin. Erin came to me in search of help passing her Pat (physical fitness test) to fulfill her dream of becoming a fire fighter. With only 4 weeks preparation, Erin passed that test with flying colours and crossed many bridges along the way, and therefore i am extremely proud to announce that Erin has graduated and commenced her new career as a full time fire fighter. This was no easy feat to say the least and I am proud to have been a part of her journey. Erin is an inspiration to me and I am honoured to call her my friend. Chase your dreams and never lose hope guys, this is your journey

Psychological stress is one of the biggest killers of muscle growth due to its ability to interrupt sleep and rest patterns and interfere with our focus levels due to the increased stress hormone cortisol. 17.01.2022 Its not always the quantity of weight being lifted, Sometimes it is best to just dial back the weight, go light or lighter and focus on form. The quality if each rep needs to be perfected and only then can you start increasing weight and unlock your true potential. Remember....... Quality over Quantity! No place for ego lifters so leave your pride at the door!... Lift within your means!

Remember that resistance training will tighten your muscles and through lack of stretching, the muscles can cease up, therefore to prevent pain and discomfort, please remember the importance of stretching out after your workout.... 13.01.2022 Shout out to my client Erin who is preparing for her NSW fire service exam. She is an absolute beast and proved she is more than up for the challenge...... this is what focus and determination is all about Each workout has been designed to simulate the things she will be expected to do in her test with some extras to increase strength, muscular endurance and cardiovascular health! 12.01.2022 VIPER FITNESS PT CLIENT OF 2019! Well. It has been a long time coming, but it is my great pleasure to announce my Viper Fitness PT client of the past year for 2019, and the award goes to (drum roll)................... Courtney Robb!!!!!... Courtney started with me back on March 12, 2019 with goals of losing body fat, building muscle, increasing her fitness levels, and boy has she done just that! Obviously when in a calorie defect, which is needed when trying to reduce your body fat, the muscle building process is slow and in some cases, non existent if the defect is too great, however with the right balance muscle growth is possible simultaneously. Courtney and myself spent the first few months, just finding the right balance of nutrition, weight and cardiovascular training, choosing to extend the defect a little more rapidly in order to knock some of the fat off at a faster rate. This meant a combination of weights and extensive cardio which resulted in Courtney losing a kg of muscle dropping to 37.1kg (which is still great). Over the past few months, Courtney has closed the gap in the defect a little further and focused on building back some of that muscle that she lost during the heavy defect and has since really found her groove where the numbers don't lie. When Courntey started with me, she weighed in at 123kg and had a lean muscle mass percentage of 38kg (which is alot to start with). Since then Courtney has dropped her weight by 15kg down to 106kg and is in the process of building her muscle mass back up, currently standing at 37.3kg. (Christmas holidays included lol). The number also do not do her newly obtained cardiovascular levels justice as Courntey is now able to run her beloved 5km Park run, for the entire 5kg but this time last year could barely walk the distance and she has consistently decreased her run time, setting a new PB every few weeks. Courtney is an inspiration to me, and should be to anyone who thinks it's not possible to change your life with hard work and some healthy choices. I look forward to training Courtney every day and am so proud to be a part of my journey and to call her my friend. Keep up the hard work Courtney. 12.01.2022 Today's DB workout! 1. Sumo Squats with pulse 10-12 reps x 3 sets 2. Goblet Squat with pulse 10-12 reps x 3 sets 3. Walking Lunges 10-12 reps x 3 sets... 4. Romanian Deadlifts 12-15 reps x 3 sets 5. Standing calf raise 20 reps x 6 sets (toes in and out) Short but sweet! Tip: if you don't have adequate weight, slow down your reps, add a pulse as in the videos and really try focus on contracting each muscle and psychologically connecting to it! If you can't feel the muscle you are training, chances are you are using more stabiliser muscles to complete the movement so make sure you control each movement. 11.01.2022 Want to improve your pushup? There are a couple of ways to do so however one technique I use often with my clients seems to work extremely well and the beauty of it is, you can easily measure your progress along the way. My client Krystal here stated her pushup career on the highest notch of the squat rack but after 5 weeks Krystal is now down to the 9th notch on the rack which is an outstanding result.... Simply apply the following: 1. Grab 2 resistance bands (make sure they apply the same tension) 2. Adjust the Olympic bar at the highest notch on the squat Rack. 3. Place bands around each shoulder and assume the pushup position. 4. Perform as many pushup as possible and adjust hight of bar if required depending on ease of use. See video for reference. 04.01.2022 Client Spotlight! Courtney is one of the most hard working and determined human beings i have ever had the pleasure of working with. She is a true inspiration to me and anyone who has ever been faced with a 'fight or flight' situation in particular when it comes to our own health. The photos on the left date back as recent as late January 2019, and photos on the right are barely a week old where Courtney has dropped a 16 kgs of body fat and built a further 5 kgs of solid lea...n muscle. We have her working through a 5 day split resistance training program complimented with a Wednesday night HIIT session and her usual 5 km run every Saturday. Courtney has made drastic changes with her nutrition and really does live and breathe fitness through nothing but pure grit and determination. The best part is this is only the start of her journey at only 4 months in!!!! Cant wait to see what she can achieve in another 6 months.........absolute machine and i am both honored and proud that Courtney has placed her trust in me to be a part of her journey! 04.01.2022 Viper Fitness - Member of the month! Chloe started her training with me with some basic goals of increasing her fitness and building some lean muscle and reducing some unwanted body fat along the way, however at the beginning like most people, Chloe really struggled with adopting some healthy nutrition and habit changes both inside and outside of the gym. After a few unexpected set backs along the way Chloe had a choice............... fight or flight! Chloe didn't let these t...hings defeat her and came back with more determination than ever before and i am proud to say that over the last few months i have noticed a dramatic change and improvement in not only Chloe's performance but her overall attitude to her training and we have seen some amazing results in the process. Chloe has dropped 3cm off her waist and 6cm off her thighs.Her smile extends ear to ear and she is both happier and healthier! Chloe has stepped up her game on all fronts and is highly commended for her hard work and determination which clearly shows. 03.01.2022 So after some intense training, I am very proud and pleased to announce my client and friend Erin passed her Firefighter PAT test in a whopping 13 mins with a target of under 15 mins. She did this fully suited in Australias crazy heat and is now onto the next stage of her assessments. Erin has a drive and a determination that is second to none and she is an inspiration not only to me but to anyone, male or female who has a goal and a dream. Cant wait to see what she can do next! 03.01.2022 This mornings Shoulder session using nothing but Dumbbells. 1. DB Arnold press, 10-12 reps x 3 sets 2. DB Bent over Rear Delt Flyes, 10-12 reps x 3 sets 3. DB Lateral Raise, 10-12 reps x 3 sets... 4. DB Front Raise with Neutral Grip, 10-12 reps x 3 sets 5. DB Bent Over Rear Delt Rows, 10-12 reps x 3 sets 6. Although I would only normally prescribe Myofibrillar training to my more experienced clients, it is a necessity over time to ensure muscles continue to get stronger so they can be progressively overloaded and continue to grow!
