25.01.2022 We had a student visit us to learn about family day care. We were very lucky as she had offered to bring her rabbits in for a visit so the children could learn all about them. We all loved the rabbits visiting. Thanks Natasha! :)

25.01.2022 The children increased their knowledge of their world around them. With a focus of natural environments as we looked at our broader communities as we investigate and discuss the fires that are currently burning around Australia at the moment. The children have a keen focus on the fire trucks and the fire fighters who are helping people by trying to put out the fires. We also investigated how the fires impact people, animals and the environment. Including how fire fighters are helping not just the people but animals and the environment as well.

22.01.2022 We are excited to have a special visitor staying with us for a couple of weeks! Sadly this little lamb lost her mum when she was only 4 days old. However with some TLC she has adjusted to her new milk formula & now loves her bottle! This is a rich learning experience for children as they get to take on an increasing responsibility to help care for the lamb. ... As well as exploring relationships with the lamb as they interact with her & discover how she loves to play follow the leader & wiggles her tail when she is happy. By having the lamb visit us it sparks children's curiosity to learn all about lambs. Which usually expands to an ongoing learning journey as their interest grows to learning about other farm animals & pets as well!

20.01.2022 We have continued following our interest in the fire trucks and firemen trying to help the animals by putting out the fires. We painted a picture of a fire and make our own stickers of animals, fire trucks, water helicopter, and firemen trying to put the fire out. This sparked so many questions from the children and helped their understanding of their world around them.

19.01.2022 New year new resources! Who am I kidding, I am always on the lookout for new resources & ideas! But seriously check out these whiteboard alphabet letters!! ... Not only do they support children to begin to understand texts & the way they are structured. As they have numbered lines to follow to form each letter correctly. But are also reusable as you just wipe off the whiteboard marker & repeat!

18.01.2022 We got a piano! We were very excited to play our new piano. Children demonstrated excellent sharing as they would take turns at playing the piano and then swap to dancing to the piano music. ... I was amazed at how quickly they were able to independently discover how to use the piano. Including being able to turn the demo modes on, turn it up and down and change the sounds.

17.01.2022 Children shared their humour, happiness and satisfaction as they recognised their contributions they made to shared projects as we made our very own toys! We made some stop lights and give way signs to enhance our dramatic play.

07.01.2022 WOOD WORK As the older children are becoming more aware of their capabilities and independence we have been engaging in a wider range of experiences. Requiring hand eye coordination and both fine and gross motor skills. The children really enjoyed the wood work experiences and I was amazed at how they actively listened to safety rules. As well as being able to mirror the positive actions of their educator as they learned new skills.

04.01.2022 Older children have developed an interest in understanding texts and the way that they are structured. They have a keen focus on the letters that make up their names and the names of their family members. We have all been focusing on our pencil grip from the palmer-supinate grasp and working our way to the dynamic tripod posture grip.

04.01.2022 DOT PAINTING Children were able to broaden their understandings of the world they live in as we explored different social and cultural communities and other ways of living.

03.01.2022 This week we have welcomed Cruze into our family as his owner became ill and unable to care for him. We are looking after him until we can find a new loving home for him. Fun facts about Cruze ... Breed: Chihuahua X. Age: 8 years approx. Sex: Male, (not desexed) Health: Healthy, no issues. Toilet trained: apparently NO, but has spent some time inside and no accidents. Temperament: Extremely gentle, quiet and placid. Although isn't really a fan of bigger dogs as he can get a bit grizzly around his bed or around food. I haven't seen him around other small dogs yet. Character: Absolutely gorgeous and so sweet, he loves just being with someone, he would be perfect for a retired person. He is really good with kids as he will sit and take pats but prefers to be an adult's little shadow. See more
