Join me online in your back yard to do something physical. Just do something physical everyday to keep your immune system strong and your mind calm.
19.01.2022 Active holidays are the best. You really get to see how a city beats when you pound the streets. Coffee shops, wine bars, local parks. Wandering round in the burrows of New York has been fabulous. We have found the people here to be extremely warm and friendly. Clocking up over 20,000 steps a day. Not that it’s a competition. Ha ha.

19.01.2022 Today I was reflecting on my activity on this holiday. I thought I was being a bit slack but in actual fact we have done 225,291 steps equalling 178.9km. I have also been to 4 Yoga classes. So I guess that’s not bad in 14 days. Going to do some strength training at Gabby’s gym on Friday. Strength in mind and movement is the key to a healthy, happy life. Loving this holiday and recharging for all the fun that’s in store for us on my return.

16.01.2022 Mindfulness - focusing ones awareness in the present moment, calmly acknowledging ones feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations. Seems straight forward enough. Right? However, in our current world of fast work, cars, phones, social media and Netflix it can be challenging. I’m confident it’s what we are all in need of though and certainly worth exploring. We practise mindfulness, meditation and yoga. To practise is to perform repeatly to improve or maintain proficiency. So team, let go of perfection and simply practise. Science now agrees these practises improve our longevity. That’s the kicker for me!! #fittill150.

13.01.2022 Holidays are amazing. Everyday here in NYC has been an excellent adventure. Food, friends, family and fun. Lots of walking, lots of laughs. Trying out Yoga studios and gyms and run paths and the like. Meeting lot of Aussies weirdly. Miss my team but getting loads of ideas for our future fitness focus. Forever Dare my friends. X

08.01.2022 Winter is coming to NYC and they seem excited about it. Why not? Outdoor ice skating is amazing and they have several parks here getting ready to go. In fact the Rockefeller Centre skating rink is open for business. Ice skating is a laugh out loud sport no matter what level skater you are. It strengthens your legs, your core, your balance, your heart and lungs and your vocal cords. Think I am still excited about summer back home. I know we are all concerned about the drought as we need to be but long slow Sunday afternoons, swimming, BBQs, gatherings with family and friends all seem so much easier in the sun. I guess each season has its best and worst side. Gratitude for them all is your best option.
07.01.2022 Heading back down under tomorrow and it’s bitter sweet. Saying farewell to Gabby is tough but a big thank you to her NYC community who are supporting her life in this amazing city. Looking forward to all things familiar. Family first, puppies(well they are family), my bed, food and a few new outfits. Grateful for my life and the opportunities it has afforded me.
