25.01.2022 MHSSC Official College Opening This morning Minister Steven Miles and Minister Grace Grace officially opened our College. Each student and staff member was presented with a Foundation Badge to signify that they were part of today's proceedings. ... The students also received a special treat of a slice of the large College cake.

24.01.2022 Many parents and carers have enquired as to when the uniform shop will be open as many of our students have had growth spurts. Seaborne Clothing have listened and are now going to open on the first day back for Term 4.

23.01.2022 Harmony Week - GELATO DAY! As a part of Harmony Week celebrations next week, the College will be hosting a gelato day on Thursday 26 November, at second break. Students can order their scoop of authentic Italian gelato through Qkr! at $5 a serve. Purchasing closes Tuesday 24/11

20.01.2022 Today we launched Future Scholars Program with the Year 6 students at Mango Hill State School. 2021 Future Scholars aims to build adaptable, resilient learners through igniting curiosity in critical local and global contexts. Students will engage in deeply collaborative experiences, developing problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, and self-reflection, towards personal goals and pathways for tomorrow. 17.01.2022 We had a fabulous day working with our 2021 Year 7 students in a full day transition program today. Students gained an insight into what it will be like to be a Mango Hill SSC student next year, and engaged in timetabled classes for a range of subjects. It was clear that everyone had a great day, enjoyed forming new friendships, and gained confidence about moving to Year 7 in 2021!

Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.... Today we have had students making gnocchi and others share the gift of dance and song with our College community at our Harmony Day assembly.

14.01.2022 Celebrating NAIDOC Week - Always Was, Always Will Be This week as a College we celebrated NAIDOC Week, paying respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the traditional custodians of the land our nation is built upon. Today we welcomed Aunty Christine, Gubbi Gubbi person, to run an ochre workshop with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. We are thankful for our connection to Bulu Yabun and Gubbi Gubbi Dyungungoo who, as Traditional Owners in our region, are supporting the growth of our College on Gubbi Gubbi lands.

13.01.2022 Book Week Parade What a great day at MHSSC today. The creativity and effort on display during the Book Week Parade was beyond words. Congratulations to all the students and teachers that dressed up to show their passion for books.... Remember that the Scholastic Book Fair is still on during second break in I Services. Plus the Fair is open to the community on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.

12.01.2022 We are pleased to advise that acceptance letters have been sent today for in-catchment enrolment applications for Year 7 2021. Families should check their email inbox for details on the next stage of the enrolment process the group enrolment interviews. The first round of out-of-catchment enrolment notifications will be sent to families from Monday 17 August. If you have not yet submitted your enrolment application for 2021, please do so this term, to support engagement with the group enrolments and the first transition event.

09.01.2022 Future Scholars Inquiry Immersion Day Our Future Scholars for 2021 joined us today for a day of inquiry based learning. We delved into global biomes and animal adaptations before designing an apex predator for a fictional newly discovered planet. We are looking forward to working together with our Future Scholars program in Year 7 2021.

09.01.2022 Final day of Year 8 Camp Over the last 3 days our Year 8 students have been challenged, inspired and empowered by the hands on history lessons at Emu Gully Adventure Camp. They have developed into a cohort that embodies the character values of courage, mateship, sacrifice and perseverance. ... This has all happened due to the dedication of our staff and the exceptional Emu Gully camp leaders. Without their passion for REAL learning none of this would be possible.

08.01.2022 As we finish our Geography units for the term, Year 7 students are designing their own liveable city, with some groups using Lego to design the buildings and landscapes of their city. If any of our Mango Hill families have some Lego at home that is no longer used, the Humanities department would be very grateful for any donations made, please just drop it off to administration.

Bookings will open 9am Tuesday 11 August with diresct access via Compass Parent Portal. If you have not already requested access, we strongly encourage you to do so this week by following the instructions in the email sent today to all parents/carers. ... Please note that parents and carers without access will be able to contact the College during business hours to make bookings for PT Interviews from Tuesday 11 August, however the parent portal will provide the most direct access, 24 hours a day.
