17.01.2022 *WARNING RANT COMING* All Pubs & Clubs were forced to 100% close for 3 months during the 'peak' of COVID-19 in Queensland, Australia. During this time we had mo...unting bills; Rent, Electricity [no it doesn't just go to $0 if the venues not in use & no not everyone qualifies for any assistance at all due to all of the hoops needed to be jumped through to qualify], Finance Payments, Insurances etc. Then we were allowed to open at 4m2 capacity limits, with strict Covid Safe Plans, sanitising, contact tracing etc, with frequent compliance checks by multiple Government authorities. It's been 16 WEEKS open under these conditions with NO community transmission within Pubs, Clubs etc in QLD to speak of! Venues are barely treading water at these venue capacity limits & are turning people away, that if they could fit in, would mean actually starting to dig themselves out of the COVID-19 DEBT hole the 3-month closure left in its wake - it's heartbreaking - saying NO to the very thing you NEED to get back SQUARE. Then those people simply hang out on the street, not socially distanced, waiting to get into a venue. Restricting them from being within a venue only serves to stop them from contributing to the economy & does not keep them away from crowds as Dr Jeannette Young & Annastacia Palaszczuk undoubtedly think it does in their skewed view of reality. So if the health advice is to stay 1.5m apart, even if a venue was allowed to go to 2m2 capacity limits this 1.5m distance can be achieved, yet a venue has a chance to make some money as this is DOUBLE our current capacity limits & not simply break even. Then venues will be able to hire more people, put live music back on & give the arts a chance to work for the first time in 9 months etc. I have nothing against sports, & wholeheartedly believe ALL sporting events should be going ahead in QLD with Covid Safe Plans. However seeing scenes like this at Suncorp Stadium last night being OK'd by the Dr & Annastacia, where I & all others in the hospitality industry have a knee on our necks, holding us back is extremely upsetting & to be honest, makes me hopping mad! Next weekend Brisbane has the AFL Grand Final with 30,000 in attendance at a 2m2 capacity limit & a current push to allow more people!! WHERE are those 30k+ people going to eat beforehand with restaurants & cafes only allowed to have 4m2 capacity limits?? WHERE are those 30k+ people going to go after the game with pubs & clubs only allowed to have 4m2 capacity limits?? GO TO 2M2 INSIDE HOSPITALITY VENUES NOW! STOP THE DOUBLE STANDARDS & FAVOURITISM! *Please SHARE to help spread the reality of the situation & maybe we can get some fair treatment if we make enough noise* #DrJeannetteYoung #AnnastaciaPalaszczuk #PaulMurray #PetaCredlin #channel7 #channel10 #channel9news #news #FoxNews

06.01.2022 It’s important to ask the question what is the reason why politicians think this is ok? The CHO wants to attract more money into QLD while killing our Hospitality industry which will cost more money. So there is no economic sense in the decision to limit venue capacity and fine for dancing. Anyone reading this who hadn’t lost their job or business shaking their head wishing I would shut up already - know this. We are the canaries in the coal mine. We are the early warning signal. You will be next unless every single Queenslander contacts their freshly voted representative and asks this very valid question.

06.01.2022 "Arts is a vehicle that allows your inner child to be seen and heard" Russell Kennedy in his The Music Real chat about his book Anxiety rx. Big thanks to Russ for his work in this field. This book will be pivotal in our industry recovery!
