22.01.2022 If not addressed, climate change will cost Australia $3.4 trillion and almost 900,000 jobs by 2070. Business as usual politics puts economics ahead of the environment. But when will we wake up now the economic cost of climate change.

17.01.2022 Health professionals want to give Angus Taylor the boot Public health is inextricably linked to climate health. It means more bushfires, more dangerous heatwaves, the spread of tropical diseases, and an increase in heat-related illnesses and deaths.

14.01.2022 The Northern Beaches will be hard hit by plans to reduce JobKeeper and JobSeeker. The Government will put our local economy and people's ability to put food on the table at risk, by rolling back the support during this difficult time where we should continue to look over for everyone, and put their health and wellbeing before 'government cost cutting' that will only cause greater economic hardship. https://www.smh.com.au//the-sydney-suburbs-hit-hardest-by-

14.01.2022 MANLY GREENS SUBMISSION TO CLIMATE CHANGE BILL - check out our submission below. The Manly Greens are a local NSW Greens group that have been active in the Manly (State) and Warringah (Federal) electorate for the past three decades. Our members and supporters were the first to raise the alarm of the risks of climate change to our community and the future of the planet. Last year Zali Steggall was voted in to be the MP for Warringah on a climate platform indicating broad commu...nity support for action on climate change. The majority of her electorate supports Zali Steggall putting forward a bill that addresses their concerns that they share with the majority of Australians. Climate change is occurring right now. A small increase in temperature of only 1 degree is already affecting our weather with increased magnitude of cyclonic storms, floods, droughts, sea-level rise and catastrophic bushfires. Our physical health, our psychological, wellbeing, the economy, the environment is already being affected. We can’t hesitate to take action in order to keep the atmospheric temperature below a 1.5 degrees increase from pre industrial levels. The need to address this issue is urgent to lessen more intense catastrophic consequences across the planet. Australian’s, as a responsible global citizens must act now. So we the Manly Greens support and welcome this bill because it will put in place a clear, assessable and smooth roadmap to meet a Net Zero emissions by 2050. All of Australian State and Territories have developed net zero plans and it is imperative that the Federal government provides an bipartisan unifying framework for the whole country to follow for the years ahead. The Climate Change Bill comprehensively does this and if it is legislated would provide economic stability and job growth, will be in-line with the majority of global democratic countries, and will be a step towards unifying the country on this issue by stopping the political climate wars that have created political instability in our country for the past two decades. The Manly Greens support the 5 year progress review process. However we would caution that to reach net zero by 2050 linear smooth progressive reductions may not be adequate in mitigating the major impact of climate change. A global temperature rise may reach a tipping point before then. We recommend that the majority of carbon reductions occur in the next 10 years to prevent this occurring.

11.01.2022 What a week it has been in politics and climate change!!! Biden beat Trump...some good news. Sco Mo congratulated Joe, but refused to discuss any prospect of reduced emissions or climate change. Our own CSIRO and Bureau of Meteorology published a damning report on our rapidly heating continent: State of the Climate 2020. The NSW State Gov did something unexpected on renewables. And locally in Warringah, Zali Stegall put up the Climate Change Bill.
