23.01.2022 Manningham Cobras are excited to announce the appointment of our senior coach for season 2021 Frank Salanitri. You will all be familiar with Frank and his tireless efforts around the club. 22.01.2022 *ANNOUNCEMENT* Dates for pre season training have been locked in. We will begin training as of Monday 26th October. The start of pre season will look different due to the current restrictions in Victoria, however if all goes according to plan with the roadmap out of lockdown we will be able to train in smaller groups. As of Monday 26th October, Victorians will be allowed to train in groups of 10. We will organise the groups and let you know prior to pre season who will be in ...which group. It is important that you stick to your groups as we must adhere to the Covid laws. Training will be Mondays and Wednesdays, starting at 6pm. Locations will vary depending on your group. We hope to be back to normal training as a group from the end of November. We will endeavour to get the groups sorted as soon as possible, however the training dates are in your schedule. It is extremely important that you RSVP to the training sessions in the app so as coaches we can plan training around those numbers. Please RSVP, and if you say you are available please turn up as we will be making sure there is accountability at training this year. If you haven't done so yet, please download the HEJA app as we must have all players using the same platform and confirming their attendance to training. The team code is OL975927. Let's get excited lads. We have all had a year off now and I'm sure you are pumped to get back outside with your mates, having a run and enjoying footy again.

21.01.2022 Cobras are pleased to announce another two very talented young players and two future stars of the club Konrad Bendrups and Ben Rowe. Konrad is a tall, competitive, talented and big bodied half forward who has shown over the last couple of years he isn’t just a talented forward, his versatility to slide into the backline or impose himself in the ruck is a very handy asset to our side. Konrad was ready for a breakout year last year before a hamstring slowed him down so watch ...this space! Ben Rowe has shown that he can be played either off half back or on the wing, providing pace, accuracy with the ball and a great knowledge of the game for someone his age - he will be one to watch for this year.

21.01.2022 After yesterday’s announcement of pre season training, we thought why not build some more momentum with another player announcement and we are excited about this one! Season 2021 will see the Cawsey brothers returning to the Cobras and they are more motivated than ever. Jake Cawsey is a strong, big bodied and talented lead up forward who, game in game out, at any stage can take the game away from opposition with a couple of quick goals. He’s influential when he gets going an...d he’s fully committed with the promise to have himself 100% fit and ready to go for round 1. Dylan Cawsey is a young, skilful and passionate player who is so keen to get back into footy that he has dropped a massive 25kgs over year 2020 and has got himself ready to go. Really inspirational mate. Congratulations! More announcements in the coming days.

18.01.2022 On a sad note, Friday 7th August the Cobra community lost one of our loved and respected former team mates - Joe 'Dina' Dinatale. Joe passed away suddenly and unexpectedly after a short time in hospital leaving behind his loving & heartbroken wife Rebecca, and children Celeste, Jacob and Eve. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them and the rest of his family and friends at this sad time. Dina joined the Cobras in 1988 to play with his best mate & cousin Yogi, a recruiting co...up that the club benefited from many times over. Over the next 5 years he played over 70 games, finishing 3rd in the Reserves B&F in '90. When coached by another of his great mates Dicko over this time, he always kicked the first goal and then it was time for him to come off - once he'd kicked it, there was nothing more . When you think of best team players, Dina immediately springs to mind. Whether playing fullback, ruck or up forward the big number 6 was ever reliable - he played the game passionately and fairly, a fierce competitor who hated being beaten, a protector of his team mates who always gave his all. People like Joe are the reason for the unbelievably strong culture at the Cobras, he was an integral part of the fabric of the club on and off the field - after retiring he remained a Cobra at heart and was a regular at events and kept a keen interest in the club. His generous, positive personality, happy and smiling face will forever be etched in the memories of those lucky enough to have known Joe, he will be forever in our hearts. For anyone wanting to attend Joe's funeral online on Monday 31st August 2020 at 11.00am - please follow the link below. https://www.funeralguide.net/obituaries/2855

18.01.2022 Today we announce what everyone assumed would’ve been obvious but two very popular and well known cobras Matt Colvin and Chris Jolly will be going around again in 2021. It was touch and go for Matty’s 2021 campaign when the news was broken that his beloved scoreboard had sadly gone to heaven and had been replaced with an electronic scoreboard. But Matt has made peace with this and decided to play on. On a serious note Matt is a very talented player and offers plenty to the c...lub on the field. Our Vice President Chris Jolly, still running off fumes from his 12 goal haul 5 years ago against Chadstone, has declared he will come back this year fitter than ever and back on the goal scorers tally. Offers a strong set of hands and a reliable kick at goal, not to mention his passion for the club.

17.01.2022 Gunning for three in a row this week as we take on Old Paradians Football Club tomorrow at home! See you tomorrow at 11.40am for the ressies and 2.00pm for the seniors! GO COBS!

14.01.2022 Unfortunately due to the latest COVID outbreak and restriction being put in place COBCHELLA has been postponed from this weekend. Given gathering restrictions we can’t hold the night and have it be as fun and enjoyable as we would like it to be so we will be tentatively moving the function to the 19th of June. However, as of now, Indigenous round will be going ahead as planned. We are hoping that nothing will change moving forward as we are looking forward to this day so mu...ch. Everybody stay safe and do the right thing where you have to.

14.01.2022 Good Morning Cobras Today is an exciting day as many weeks and phone calls have resulted in an excellent result for the club for 2021. Today we announce two elite players of the game, two guys with a wealth of knowledge and experience return to the club to not only dominate on the field, but join and complete our Senior coaching panel for season 2021. ... Joining Frank Salanitri on our seniors coaching panel we are pleased to welcome back Tom Bell and Anthony Raso. Tom Bell will be fulfilling his 5th season playing for the club and what a record he has had. Division 4 League BNF, Division 3 League BNF, 2 club BNFs and even coached our club in 2016. Tommy not only provides elite presence on the field but will be an excellent coach beside Frank and Anthony providing a unique look at the game and how it should be played. Anthony is as excited as anyone to be back representing his Cobras. Razz is one of the leagues most elite CHF with great marking ability, pinpoint goals kicking and creates many opportunities for his team mates with his movement off the ball. One of Raso’s goals this year was to work with our young forwards and pass on some of his experience to them, which says a lot about the sort of player and clubman he is. Welcome to season 2021 boys, it’s getting better already!!

14.01.2022 Manningham Cobras are pleased to announce that two true leaders of the club and all round talented players Michael Muller and Adam Baltruweit will be continuing on in 2021 to further boost our tilt at a Division 2 title. Michael has been around the club for many years and his loyalty has once again shon through. A versatile midfield player who has proved himself up forward will be a strong weapon for us next year. Adam is an extremely talented player and previous league B'n...'F winner, who’s ball use and pace off the half back is not only pretty to watch, but a real asset to play alongside of. Stay posted for more great news to come in the next week as we build for season 2021 and beyond.

13.01.2022 Huge week for the club this weekend with our first ever Indigenous round celebrations being held this weekend at Koonung Park. Make sure you set the day aside to get down and see the ressies run out at 11:40am to take on Yarra Old Grammarians wearing our specially designed Indigenous jumper. Following the reserves will be didgeridoo followed by Welcome to Country and a smoking ceremony at 2pm performed by Aunty Zeta. ... Seniors bounce at 2:20pm where we look to bounce back from a tough week last weekend. Get down, support the club and the cultural significance this round means for our club and the community now and into the future. Go Cobs

10.01.2022 Everyone knows that one of the most important parts to a football club is youth, and you would be hard pressed to find two more talented and hard working young men than these two. Luke Morris and Dylan Lea have both declared themselves Cobras in 2021. Both young, talented and passionate defenders who have great knowledge of the game. Luke Morris applies his trade as a CHB, very rarely beaten in the air and is quick to follow up on the ground. Is quickly moulding himself int...o a leader in his backline. Dylan Lea is a very smart and agile defender, comes off a half back flank and is a very good user of the ball. Both of these players are key parts of the clubs future and we can’t wait to have them back out on the park.

08.01.2022 Two more players announcing today that they will continue on down at the snake pit for season 2021. We look forward to seeing Chris Arman and Mitch Keltie both take the field and give their all for the club we love. Great work boys. Stay tuned, we will be announcing players every night for the next week so we can get some momentum going into pre season. ...

Congratulations to Michael Muller on being named Captain of the football club and Adam Baltruweit on being named Vice captain. Also congratulations to Mitch Keltie and Thomas Flood on earning a spot each in the senior leadership grou...p. All 4 have shown enormous leadership and character throughout challenging times and have the clubs best interests at heart. 04.01.2022 Cobras - Old Paradians 22 May 2021

01.01.2022 Good morning Cobraland! This morning we are excited to announce that our coaching panel for season 2021 has been finalised with the appointment of club legend Tim Conn as our reserves coach. Just about everyone in and around the club will know Conny and the massive contribution he has given the club on and off the field. A 200 game player, a life member of the club and now taking on a vital coaching role for the club. ... As a club we are always looking to the future and we believe that Conny will step in and offer great knowledge, support and respect to both our youth and senior players who want to get the best football out of themselves, as well as work in with our experience and talented senior coaching staff to create a great football atmosphere and a talented club going forward. Congratulations Tim!
