17.01.2022 We are thrilled with a recent Outback Links project on Adnyamathanha lands. We are still celebrating. With the help of our Parkin-Sturt Remote Area Bush Chaplai...n Sunny, we recently sent a group of Outback Links volunteers to a remote Aboriginal community to take part in a project restoring their sacred country. The partnership was an incredible symbol of reconciliation that bridged relationships between First Nations peoples and Frontier Services. Kick off your #NAIDOCWeek celebrations with us today and check out our video of the group trip. #FrontierServices #OutbackLinks See more

07.01.2022 COVID SAFE CHURCH SERVICES As announced last Sunday, Church Council has decided that from now until further notice, the wearing of masks will be optional at our services. This is a small concession to the current improved situation. However, it is important to realise that all other restrictions still apply. We are required by law to stick to our Safety Plan, which means: Checking in and sanitising hands upon entry Not singing ... Observing the 4 square metre rule for all except members of the same household Sanitising chairs and touch surfaces after the service Staying at home if you have any signs of illness. At the end of the service: Please leave the building promptly to allow cleaning Enjoy talking outside but please observe physical distancing. That too is part of the Safety Plan we must adhere to. It is still easy to have a conversation while maintaining a safe distance. Go to https://manning.uca.org.au/ for more information. See more
07.01.2022 We're open for worship, following covid-19 safe attendance requirements which includes wearing a mask to services. If you’re not a regular at Manning but would like to join us you are welcome. For more covid-19 safe requirements, check out the Worship section of our website: https://manning.uca.org.au/ DEVOTIONS @ HOME by Rev Claire Wright (abridged) Today is the Feast of Christ the King (or the Reign of Christ): the final day of the church year and our journey in worship... through the life of Christ and the Christian faith before we start all over again next week with the beginning of Advent. Reading: Matthew 25:31-40 Then the king will say REIGN OF CHRIST And so, here we are at last: the Sunday of Christ the King. ‘Kings’ are not something many people can easily relate to or appreciate, especially in Australia. For many of us, the language and image of ‘kingship’ is connected with the hoarding of power and pomp and property; with conquering and ruling by sword and suppression; with commanding and exploiting the obedience of the people; with living in ivory towers. But Jesus is not the typical king of a typical kingdom. This is the king who hugs lepers, who befriends outcasts, who feeds the hungry. A king who takes up not the sword, but the towel, as a servant to all, kneeling to bathe his disciples’ sore and dusty feet. This is the king who wears a crown of thorns. Who is given the title ‘King of the Jews’ as a cruel joke, as he hangs on a cross, crying out words of love and forgiveness for the healing of the world he loves. Who promises to be among the least and lost and left behind; with them; for them; in them. That’s my king. I wonder if he’s yours If you have access to the Internet, you may like to Google ‘That’s My King Dr S M Lockridge’ BLESSING: And so, may we all go out into the world and the week, joyfully to live out God’s kingdom of peace, love and hope, until Christ our King comes again to mend the world, once and for all. And the blessing of God Father, Son and Holy Spirit be with you always. Amen.
