24.01.2022 COVID19 pandemic created all sorts of havoc for countries affecting economies and paused our lives. It actually changed the what we could call a normal human life. Eventhough these are very challenging times to all of us, our strong passion and love for the game of cricket kept us believing and united. As a club, we kept going forward and gaining momentum. This video represents what we have achieved so far, our potential and how much we love and value our game. Cricket is not... a sport, its our passion. We are very grateful to be in parnership with Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club which provides us with many great opportunities to expand our horizons. We are also like to give thanks to Kesh for his time, commitment and skills it took to make this video, and Dulana for his generousity to make this video a reality. Last but not least, a huge thank you to Warehouse Cricket Association Queensland for organising the winter comp in QLD when other states and competitions are struggling to go ahead. Winter comp gave us an opportunity to look above and beyond the current epidemic and reflect on how strong we are as individuals as well as a club. Hope you all watch and enjoy this short video featuring some of our players. Please feel free to share and give us your feedback. #warehousecricket #mlcc #wintercricket #winterseason #wynummanlycc #covid19 #socialdistancing #thankyou #passion #raiseabat https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=share&v=QpRP7SQjBHQ

20.01.2022 Mansfield Lions A1 vs Napoleans Round 4 Match Report... "MLCC A1 records their 2nd win a row in a low scoring thriller" On a beautiful Saturday morning, on what seemed a good Marchant park 8 wicket, Mansfield Lions lost the toss and were sent into bat in their winter A1 game, round 4. Openers Ryan Short with young and upcoming batsman Pavan Singh were determined to get Mansfield Lions off to a good start. Unfortunately, we lost an early wicket when one popped on Ryan and he spooned it to point off a cut shot. Visibly upset Ryan walked off and angrily gestured to the team, "who said it was a road!". Next came in Pranav Susarla. Pranav and Pavan put on a great partnership to put an excellent foundation to launch in the late overs. Pranav ending up on 56 and Pavan 46, with wickets in hand Mansfield Lions were determined to set a decent total but that was not to be as the rest middle order and the tail struggled to score runs and losing wickets at regular intervals. Mansfield Lions were able to set a modest score of 138. With the ball in the hand, Mansfield Lions knew that they had to get early wickets and make early in roads to the strong batting line of Napoleans to give them any chance of winning. It was Mexican International Luis Hermida who provided the first break through a caught behind of their top scorer for 34. He then removed their best batsman caught behind for a golden duck. Mansfield Lions had the start they wanted. Redlands Top grader Josh Fraser bowled a very tight economical spell to continue the pressure. The spin twins of Susarla and Jayaweera kept the wickets coming, picking up 4 wickets and 2 respectively. However, due to some drop catches and misfields Napoleans middle to lower order partnership kept rotating the score board to push them ever closer to the win. Mansfield Lions began to feel the pressure, but the team was able to remain calm and composed under skipper Hiran and picked up the last few wickets to wrap up the game to win the second game of the season and also to get the valuable 6 points to keep them in the hunt for the premiership.

15.01.2022 Mansfield Lions C1 Vs Battlers XI Round 4 Match Report... Massive win for the MLCC C1 team as they keep their premiership dreams alive With requiring a win in this game to stay alive in the competition, Mansfield Lions elected to bat first after winning the toss. Openers were able to provide a slow, but a steady start. Lahesha scored 21 runs and once his partner Chaminda got out, it brought Elmo to the crease. Elmo who is playing his first game of the season provided the impetus that was required to lift the run rate by playing a little cameo to score 34 quick runs including 4 boundaries. After losing Elmo, Mansfield Lions collapsed from 3/75 to 5/80. Then Wasantha got together with Mahesh, who played the anchoring innings for MLCC to put up an excellent partnership of 63 runs. Then came the innings that changed the whole game. Literally a display of fireworks. Viraj played a whirlwind innings that included 3 sixes and 9 boundaries to score 70 quick runs. Viraj had to depart when the total was 211. Mahesh kept batting with the tail and made a valuable 56 runs. Mansfield Lions were able to score a healthy 277 runs thanks to some brilliant innings from Viraj, Mahesh and Elmo. With a big score to defend and a win in everyones mind, Mansfield Lions opened bowling with Mohib and Chris. Chris bowled an excellent economical spell including 4 maidens, a wicket and gave away only miserly 11 runs. Mohib also bowled an excellent spell but was unlucky not to get any wickets. Chamal bowled an excellent spell of 4 overs with 2 maidens and picked up a wicket in the middle overs to apply pressure on the batting team. Lahesha, Malith, Mahesh and Viraj picked up a wicket each while keeping the scoring in check. Everyone did a brilliant job in the field while the stand in captain Chaminda taking 2 catches behind stumps and Viraj taking 2 excellent catches to show his all-round abilities. Job well done by MLCC C1 team winning their first game of the season by comfortable 99 runs.

12.01.2022 It was not the start one would expect for the season for us but there were a lot of positives to reflect on from the first round of the season for all three Mansfield Lions CC teams. Saturday A1 Vs South Brisbane A brilliant opening tight bowling spell from Luis and Aakash made sure the South Brisbane scoring was always kept under check. Josh was the pick of the bowlers who burst through the middle order by picking up 4 for just 5 miserly runs. Aakash and Pranav picked up 2 w...Continue reading

06.01.2022 Good luck to Mansfield Lions team taking to the field tomorrow in New Zealand.

05.01.2022 Mansfield Lions A3 Vs Brisbane Legends Round 4 Match report... A3 holds their nerves to win a nail biter against the table toppers in the last over With 2 losses and no wins under their belt, MLCC A3 was looking at a steep challenge against the team that is on the top of the ladder who has won all their games. But you know what they say, true champions rise up when it is most required. As such, Brisbane Legends won the toss and elected to bat. Sach provided the much-required start with ball by picking up a wicket in the 5th ball of the game setting the tone. Sudath continuing the trend picking up the other opener in his 2nd over leaving the Brisbane Legends 2 for 11 after 6. However, the middle order was able put up some fight. Then Sach and Ruchi was able to pick up 4 wickets within 12 deliveries to leave the top team at 7 for 85. Number 3 batsman, Rajiv played an exceptional innings aided by some drop catches, misfields and the tail enders to make a century. Mansfield Lions were able to wrap up the innings in the last over and was given a total of 183 to get their first win of the season which is far more than they would like to chase when they had the Brisbane Lions 7 down for just 85 runs. Madumal and Dulana also chipped in with picking up a wicket each. Skipper took the responsibility upon himself with chasing this tricky target with Taylor. But the Lions lost the wicket of Sudath when the score was 11 on the 3rd over. That bought Anjana to the crease who played an absolute gem of an innings to guide the Lions in the middle overs as he was joined by ever reliable Ruchira who kept the momentum going by taking occasional calculated risk to keep up with the required rate. The pair added some invaluable 105 runs for the 4th wicket in 26 overs. Anjana got out trying to keep up with the asking rate for 52 and Om got out the very next ball bring Sach to the crease when the equation to win was 43 runs of 49. Sach played a little cameo of 24 runs to bring the equation down to 4 runs off last 4 overs. Sach got out trying to finish the match on one shot while on the other end Ruchira was continuing his run accumulation. Lions still requiring 4 runs off last 22 balls, they lost the wicket of set batsman Ruchira due to a run out when he was on 66 which was the match defining innings. Madumal also got out in the next over taking the match to the last over requiring 2 runs to win. Hirusha missed the first 2 balls and you could see the tension building up in the dressing room. But he had a calm head on his shoulders to hit the next ball over mid-off for a boundary to finish what was an exciting game and bring the first win for MLCC A1 and making sure all MLCC teams winning in round 4.
