25.01.2022 If you're headed to Melbourne for White Night....

22.01.2022 WOW! What a night. Thankyou to everyone who came along to the 5th Mansfield Lantern Festival - a fabulous way to celebrate the winter solstice. We have so many photos to share - they are coming soon here and on our instagram page. Many thanks to Mansfield Shire Council for their continued support of this event.... Awesome job by our food and drink vendors, our brilliant entertainers (WildHoney Performing Arts pictured and Chris Morant - Variety Entertainer), the Mansfield drumming group, DJ Julian from Lussix music, Arts Council Mansfield Inc and Mansfield Steiner School for their lantern workshops, One Stop Party Shop - Mansfield for the amazing lighting, Mansfield Musical & Dramatic Society for bringing Cat in the Hat to the parade and Cecelia Walker (@photos.bycece) for her camera work and running our insta stories all night. 16.01.2022 SAVE THE DATE! Yes - there WILL be a Mansfield Lantern Festival in 2021. We're excited to announce that there is going to be a festival on Saturday 19th June. It will be different - but we know that it will be be fun, it will celebrate the winter solstice, and there will be something for everyone. We're still tweaking the details (and the webpage) but hope to be able to do a grand reveal very soon.... Thanks for your support. Put Saturday 19th June in your calendar now!

14.01.2022 TODAY'S THE DAY! Sadly we won't be meeting together tonight at 5.30pm to walk through the streets of Mansfield with our brightly coloured lanterns, nor will we be gathering around fire pits to keep warm as we enjoy delicious food and drinks from local Mansfield businesses. We're also disappointed that we won't be wowed by street performers like The Elementals from WildHoney Performing Arts or Chris Morant - Variety Entertainer... HOWEVER..... - we DO have a date for next year (Saturday 19th June 2021) - it IS still the Winter Solstice and families can celebrate at home with their own lanterns, candles and thoughts - 'life as we know it' is returning slowly and we're excited that there is the potential that events such as our lantern festival and parade will return in the future. PS - these beautiful photos were taken at our 2019 festival by local photographer Cece Walker (you might remember her darting around everywhere with her camera). You can find her over on instagram www.instagram.com/photos.bycece

14.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS! Remember - we saw them first in Mansfield *NEWS FLASH* ... So, in a flurry of phone calls, texts and emails, whilst riding on the tail wind of our Mansfield performance and a good decade of hard work, blood sweat and tears... someone... in a high place... has seen, and loved our work! And with barely a moment to unpack our bags and catch our breath we’re off to the BIG SMOKE to don our silver suits once again to feature at the White Night Reimagined Media Launch in Melbourne. Starting tonight The Elementals will be head down ( or up ) at the first of three media shoots, first at the Royal Exhibition Building ( REB), Thursday morning for the official White Night launch with the Minister of the Arts at Treasury Gardens ( broadcasting live) and finishing at a meet and greet at the VIP lunch. Please send us all your goodness as we float upon this wing and a prayer

14.01.2022 START YOUR PLANNING...

08.01.2022 FESTIVAL 2020 Sadly we won't be able to run our lantern parade and festival on the 20 June 2020 (what a cool date that would have been!) COVID 19 restrictions are still in place and our festival in it's current format just doesn't work. We've already bookmarked Saturday 19th June 2021 so will be well prepared!... GOOD NEWS - Yes, there is some good news. Whilst our festival can't operate on the 20th June, it is STILL the night of the winter solstice. We have been working behind the scenes to create some lantern templates for you to use so that we can still light up Mansfield with beautiful lanterns a month from now. Stay tuned for more information! (Image 2019 www.instagram.com/photos.bycece )

07.01.2022 It's all about the lanterns at Mansfield Farmers' Market this morning - head down and make one for tonight!

06.01.2022 HELLO! It's been a while - we're busy behind the scenes (already) bringing everything together to make our 2020 Festival bigger and better than ever. We've just switched on the reviews option on our FB page and we'd love to hear from you if you've ever been to our festival. It helps us to keep improving as we keep growing. ... If you have something BIG you need to tell us (and yes, we ARE open to the "real deal" if you have something to say) then please shoot us a message via the page or an email [email protected] Check out this fantastic photo of the Mansfield Musical & Dramatic Society Seussical crew with Chris Morant - Variety Entertainer. We're looking forward to hearing more about Seussical in the lead up to their performances in November! (image credit - www.instagram.com/photos.bycece)

04.01.2022 WOW! Hands up if you went along last night or plan to tonight?

02.01.2022 LANTERN FESTIVAL UPDATE At the moment we are in a "waiting phase". We still have a few months until our festival (20th June) so we're sitting back and taking note of everything around us and not making any major decisions. All of our planning is still going on behind the scenes. Obviously we will work within health and government guidelines but for now we are not making any announcements. :)
