Over the moon is a heartwarming adventure filled musical animation about a young girl building a rocket to fly to the moon to find the legendary fairy Chang’e. Essentially it’s a colorful coming of age story about love, loss and acceptance, interwoven with the legend of the autumn moon festival. Chang’e is voiced by the amazing Phillipa Soo (Eliza from the original Hamilton cast) and there are some beautiful songs. My girls loved the story and the music! This famous poem by the Confucian scholar Li Bai expresses his longing to be reunited with his family.
