25.01.2022 Our team is heading to Tanzania in December with the aim to build an outdoor learning space, that will be attached to the girls dormitory in a rural school located the Manyara region. This space will allow classes to be less populated and also protect the students from harsh weather conditions. We are also aiming to fix the roof of the dormitory, due to damages made by bats and natural conditions. In December 2019, two of our team members visited the Manyara school and were w...elcomed with hundreds of smiles and open heart. This small visit made such an impression to the children, so we are very excited to be able to help them in every way we can. So even if you could just give a little bit of money to help us, it make such a difference to these children's lives. All money that is raised will go towards the materials and labour required to complete our project. DONATE AT; https://www.gofundme.com/f/doing-it-for-tanzania

21.01.2022 Hey, my name is Shayla Carl and I’m the Finance Manager for this project. I am currently studying a double degree in communications, media and journalism. After completing a humanitarian subject last year and previously going on a mission to Vanuatu with my high school, I decided to join this Africa team, as through these experiences I learnt so much about myself and others. I was also lucky enough to travel to Manyara School last year and am beyond excited to be able to go ...back. I might not know much about engineering however, what I can bring to this team is a she’ll be right attitude, some good old Aussie slang and even some awful dad jokes. Through this project I look forward to learning and growing both professionally and personally. Putting all jokes aside, after visiting the school last year and seeing the happiness in the kids. I am so blessed and lucky to be able to go back and support these kids as much as I can and be able to learn about them and their culture. I hope you can continue to follow our teams journey and support us in anyway possible. See more

21.01.2022 Hi, my name is Emma Doolan and I am one of the Project Engineers. I am currently in my 3rd year of studying a Bachelor of Civil Engineering. After finishing high school I knew that I wanted to travel as much as possible and I have been luck enough to do so. At the start of the year I spent over a month in Africa and was fully immersed in the cultures of the different countries. During this time I saw the hardship that majority of the continent faced and decided that I wanted... to help as much as I possibly could. So when the opportunity to complete this subject came up I jumped at the chance to go back. My team will be going to the rural community Manyara and building a shelter for the boarding students to use. I am very excited to be able to use my Civil Engineering skills to help design and build this structure for the students. If you would like to help make this project reality, please donate at https://www.gofundme.com/f/Manyaraschoolproject

15.01.2022 Hi, my name is Wangchuk Tshoko and I’m the Project Manager of the Manyara School Project. I’m currently in my 4th year of Civil engineering and in my day to day life I enjoy living an active lifestyle and playing Rugby. I wanted to participate in this subject because I wanted to make a positive change in the world using the skills and knowledge I have gained in my time at university. Through the University of Wollongong’s Humanitarian Engineering Management Program, my team and I have been empowered to engineer solutions to the problems faced by the developing world. To be given the opportunity to direct my efforts to such a worthwhile cause has been very enjoyable. I hope from getting to know our team on a personal level, you can support us and help in our journey to completing this project!

15.01.2022 Hi I’m Corey Moore and for this project I’m the logistics manager. I’m currently in my second bachelors degree which is a bachelor of Arts majoring in Japanese and journalism to complement my Bachelor of information technology. I was part of the original project findings mission last year and have seen first hand the situation in Manyara. This has led me to becoming heavily invested in helping So They Can, the organisation we are partnered with, to help improve this school. I’m sure this will be a great chance to put my mark in a humanitarian space. I look forward to working with my fellow team mates and you guys in this space to help improve the lives of these awesome kids that just want to learn.

Some of you have already found this and we thank you for your contributions.
