I am so excited to see the outcome of the findings of a National Survey of Au Pairs in Australia presented at UTS this Thursday 29 November. Authored by Dr Laurie Berg, UTS, and Professor Gabrielle Meagher, Macquarie University, this report presents findings from the first national survey of au pairs in Australia. ... It portrays a vivid picture of the daily activities, benefits gained and problems encountered by almost 1,500 au pairs in Australia. At this launch, the authors will provide a presentation on their key findings. The report will be launched by Professor Deb Brennan, UNSW Sydney, a leading expert on the politics of childcare, work and migration. I am really looking forward to working towards helping this Industry to become more regulated ensuring both families in Australia & the Au Pairs that come here for the experience to be supported not only physically but emotionally and financially along with being supported and kept safe on all levels.

19.01.2022 I would love to see AU PAIR specific Visas for Australia so that we, as families, can have safe, regulated and supported affordable childcare in our homes for our babies! I would love to make sure the Au Pairs have their visitation rights to Australia protected and made very clear so that things like this dont happen in the future... Wouldnt it be great to have au pairs recognised on the childcare rebate system too? ... It is such an unregulated industry in Australia and after running my agency for over 5 years, its hugely needed and in high demand as is childcare needs for families across the Country. 18.01.2022 Who has had any experience at the Retreat for their kids Veteran Mentors? And thoughts on the experience? Digital addiction is a huge problem in many homes on a global scale. I know we need assistance at times in ours.... Would be great if a broader community could access such retreats at a lower cost. $5,000 whilst Im sure it is worth every cent, seems a little out of reach for most families.

However, from this experience Ive also learnt how to deal with over tiredness, and their not-so-fun moments. For 2016 and majority of 2017, I volunteered at the Albury/Wodonga Volunteer Bureau for their homework program which involved tutoring students from linguistically diverse backgrounds. Im considerate and respectful to others property, privacy, will pick up after myself and competent of preparing food. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming in the River at Noreuil Park, taking my labrador, Oscar, for walks along the waterside and eating out at restaurants. 12.01.2022 Au pair needed Pagewood / Maroubra SYDNEY Start Date - ASAP ... 3 awesome school kids 1 beautiful dog Big home with pool near the beach and Westfield Shopping Centre Approx 25-30 hours per week Hi Au Pairs! I am a single mumma and I am looking for an au pair to join us ASAP for minimum of 3 months. I have 3 children 2 girls (aged 9 & 7) and 1 boy (15). I also have a Staffy who loves walks and is quite strong so we need someone who loves both children and animals & can manage a strong dog. I need help in the morning to get the children ready for school including preparing their breakfast and lunchboxes for school, getting their uniforms on and sorted and tidying the house after the morning run. (With the kids help!) In the afternoons I need help to help cook dinner, help with homework, dog walking and organising uniforms for the next day. You would be required to clean the kitchen and light housework - changing the children's sheets on their beds, unpacking dishwasher, clothes washing and folding and general tidying. We also have a pool that I need help with, I quite enjoy to clean (its a great core workout!) and my son also helps with this. I need the dog to be walked every day and we live right on a nature reserve and huge park. So there are plenty of lovely walking tracks. The Role & The hours... Monday to Friday (mornings and afternoons) flexible with the days and hours. Approximately 25 hours of work per week with extra babysitting required each week of an evening. Some weekend babysitting needed occasionally. We also require dog/house sitting at times so would require someone mature, respectful and responsible as our dog is a HUGE part of the family & we love her very much. I have a large room with 2 beds (trundle) and built ins with a desk, which would suit a student. We have a home gym, swimming pool, next to sports centres and right behind Eastgardens Westfield shopping Centre. I have a car for use whilst at work and some travel with the family is on offer if required and happy to join us. I am looking for someone who... Loves kids with experience working with older kids desired. Patience, kindness and good boundary setting experience needed. Clean & tidy with a proactive attitude and experience in housekeeping desired. Can cook basic meals for the kids and learn new recipes. There is shopping required for the house on occasions. Mature, fun & good imagination when it comes to play with the kids to keep them off the screens and outdoors or playing games at the house. I require a paid & valid Working With Children Check I also require 3 references with 2 being child care related. Animal friendly & good swimmer. Would consider 2 au pairs and the role could be split depending on circumstances as we have a large home. Driver is a bonus but not a dealbreaker. The kids and I look forward to meeting you.
