23.01.2022 Dr Shalini Arunogiri, Deputy Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Central Clinical School, Monash University, has been awarded a Psychiatry Workforce Leadership Grant from the Victorian Department of Health. One of only five recipients, the grant will support Dr Arunogiri to develop her leadership capacity through coaching, formal policy and health leadership courses, and mentorship from a consumer with lived experience. Shalini is delighted and honoured to receive this grant, and is grateful for the Department of Health's support of mental health and addiction leadership.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to Dr Gemma Sharp on her APS "Rising Star" award! only one of five Australians and the only Monash University researcher to be recognised in this year's award. CCS Monash The "Rising Star" award recognises early career researchers who have demonstrated excellence in publications, received significant recognitions, made significant discoveries, generated work with broad impact, and established an independent research career. Dr Sharp's pioneering work in the fi...eld of body image, particularly in her leadership of the development of KIT the body image chatbot, was instrumental in her award success. @gemmasharp11 #WeMendMinds

17.01.2022 Is COVID-19 reshaping the Australian psyche? Perhaps one of the unexpected impacts of COVID-19 on Australians is a reshaping of our national psyche. We've seen a rise in mental ill health, with greater numbers of people experiencing anxiety and depression due to the impacts of the pandemic. Women, the elderly and the vulnerable are particularly experiencing more mental health problems. However, the community’s response has not been to ignore this and say, "She’ll be right, ma...te", but to insist on greater resources for Australians struggling with mental ill health.
