05.01.2022 Wind, rain, cold...All happening today@ Maraponds Branxholm. We have a Medlar tree in our garden , it's fruit is ripe when it is rotten and is known as "pigs arse" because of its unfortunate bottom The fruit makes a beautiful liqueur when soaked in maraponds homemade alcohol. I bottled it today and put the remnants...alcohol soaked pigs arse fruit in the compost...I hate waste.....the chickens loved it. I also baked our Christmas cake today, fruit soaked in whiskey for a week and I added the viscous Brown goo from the Medlar liqueur. Smells amazing and the crumbs taste fabulous!.
