21.01.2022 Margaret Rice, author of 'A Good Death' and founder of 'Good Grief' (https://good-grief.com.au/) wrote a blog about our study on grief in older people. We are still looking for older people who are interested in completing our #grief survey and for GPs and practice nurses who would like to be interviewed. Please share and get in touch if you are interested. https://good-grief.com.au/the-ocean-of-grief-how-does-grie/ Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement Margaret Rice

19.01.2022 Share your experiences with grief as an older person and make a difference in the current bereavement support system. Our survey on #grief in older people closes in early August. Last chance to participate and win a $200 Coles Myer gift card: https://bit.ly/grief-survey

18.01.2022 We found this visual representation by @holisticallygrace which perfectly captures what comes out of our mouth vs what we really mean, think or feel. Sometimes ...we just aren't ready to share or voice the true answer when someone asks how we are. This may be because someone hasn't given you the response that you'd like, but if you can muster up the courage to answer truthfully every now and then, regardless of the answer, it can be incredibly empowering. Have you tried it? What is your "I'm okay" masking lately?

17.01.2022 Lucy Hone shares her experience with grief after the loss of her daughter. While grief can be overwhelming, she says there are strategies that make it "possible to live and grieve at the same time." (Retrieved from TED and TED-Ed) https://youtu.be/NWH8N-BvhAw

09.01.2022 This is an interesting interview with Brené Brown and David Kessler, who is a grief expert who was mentored by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. David is discussing the different stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, sadness, acceptance) and how finding meaning might be important in this process. https://brenebrown.com//david-kessler-and-brene-on-grief-/
