20.01.2022 Hello Members, Guests & Shooters, Please note that Marconi CTC & Sydney CTC Complex is having a working bee on Saturday 16th May from 10am. Everybody is welcome to come along and lend a hand on the day.... Following are a few of the jobs that we are hoping to get done depending on attendance. *Repair potholes in the road leading into the club. *Paint the Trench layout. *Clean out Trench bunker and remove unused mower, paint, boxes etc. *Remove old firebins and unused old trap from outside lowhouse 2 skeet house. *Tidy up inside traps and skeet houses. Ensure drains are clear. *Cut edges and whipper snip layouts 1,2,5 and 6. *Paint microphone posts. *Remove old broken/unused chairs/tables and other unused items. *Replace timbers on all 4 score stands. *Clean out storage containers and make better use of space. *Clear shrubs and branches from the sides of the roadway into the club. This is just a start on the jobs that need doing around the club so we are hoping for a good roll up to make a difference. if anyone would like to pick a certain task and focus on that then please let us know so that we can purchase any materials required (Paint, roadbase etc.) If we have a reasonable attendance we will provide a BBQ lunch so please let an official from either clubs know if you are intending to help your clubs. It is extremely important that everyone follows our guidelines so shooters can be confident that their health and safety won’t be jeopardised. We can shoot in groups of 3 per layout with social distancing measures. Our guidelines are as follows. 1. Bookings are MANDATORY - NO BOOKING NO SHOOT 2. Arrive 5 minutes before your allocated time to sign in and pay for your token. 3. Be mindful to finish your round 5 minutes earlier to pack up and clean around you, so the next shooter can start shooting. 4. There will be no more than 3 people inside the clubhouse at any one time and shooters must stick to the spots marked out on the floor. 5. Shooters will be allocated a trap upon arrival 6. Please do not congregate outside the club room or at the layout and remember your social distancing at all times. 7. Use the provided sanitisers when arriving and leaving. 8. Do not come to the club if you feel unwell. 9. No food, tea and coffee will be provided. 10. You MUST leave the grounds before the next allocated time slot, this will be strictly enforced. 11. Please respect the range officers and staff as we are trying to navigate our way through this difficult environment. 12. We are currently restricted to 6 people per time slot as staff are included in the 10 person limit, this rule is NOT up for negotiation if you are wanting to shoot in a larger group. 17.01.2022 Sunday the 13th of December - Marconi CTC Christmas Shoot! After what was a crazy year, it was great to be able to celebrate Christmas with our members and their families. We would like to thank everyone in attendance and especially the families who helped make the day as special as it was. We are pleased to say nobody left without a prize! Marconi CTC is extremely grateful for the support we have received in 2020 and this was a perfect opportunity to give back to all shoo...ters. A big thank you goes out to our hardworking committee, for putting on not only a fantastic shoot but for everything behind the scenes. We would also like to thank the Constable who attended from Sutherland Shire Police, ensuring the event was indeed covid safe. 17.01.2022 Marconi Marathon 100T Double Barrel On Sunday 18th of October 2020, Marconi Clay Target Club held its annual Marconi Marathon shoot, in conjunction with the Marconi 400 Teams Event. We had a great turnout for the event, all shooters were ready to take to the layouts and battle it out over 100 Targets.... The weather was somewhat unusual, although not entirely out of character for October. We saw overcast skies, with little sun breaking through. After a great day of shooting, Aaron Jones came off as Overall Winner with a perfect score of 100/100, huge congratulations Aaron, well shot ! Aaron walked away with $500 cash, 250 Falcon Shells, a Sash and his name on the Honour Board for 2020. Congratulations again Aaron. It was absolutely fantastic to see so much red on the scoreboard. A big round of applause goes out to all our place getters. Great shooting today! We must thank Peter Phillpott, President and Shoot Marshall, for running the day's shoot like clockwork as always. Thanks must always go out to Sharon Phillpott & Maria Simon for all their hard work in the office on the day. To our beloved Tony for his delicious food keeping shooters nourished and alert. 14.01.2022 Dear ACTA Clubs, Zones and Members Please be advised that, at this afternoon’s ACTA Executive Committee Meeting, a motion was unanimously passed to Cancel all ...ACTA National Events for 2020. This decision was made, primarily based on: the need to protect all members health and safety, (especially given the current escalating situation in Victoria and possibly beyond), Inability to predict the likely revisions to any State or Territory Health Department restrictions that may next occur, the deadlines approaching to timeframes in which administrative tasks need to be performed in order to adequately deliver the events, and the cost implications of attempting to stage events that will be severely under-subscribed. 12.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS PETER Marconi Clay Target Club held our 2020 Annual General Meeting today at 9am where Peter Phillpott was elected President of Marconi CTC by majority. Peter is a well respected member of the Clay Target Shooting community with his involvement in the sport stemming back to 2004. Peter has been a loyal and dedicated member of Marconi for 16 years and with his unwavering work ethic, he has been elected president of the club for 14 years running.... Peter is looking forward to working with Sydney Clay Target Club in improving the grounds and ensuring every shooter has a fantastic experience when visiting both clubs and he is already engaging with the committee in regards to a number of initiatives to get the ball rolling. It is the goal of the entire Marconi CTC committee to honour the history both Sydney & Marconi have on the grounds and we are confident that with the evolving work and relationships formed between the directors of both clubs, we can make great progression towards being a world-class shooting facility. The 2020 Marconi CTC committee will be elected their roles in a following meeting and we look forward to introducing you to the many enthusiastic faces that make up our wonderful club. 11.01.2022 Marconi members, Recently there was a spot inspection performed by the licensing police at our premises. The intent of the inspection was to ensure we were adhering to government regulations relating to COVID-19. Recently there was a media release outlining Marconi CTC was issued with a $1000 fine for a COVID related breach. Specifically, the breach was due to a COVID plan not being supplied to Police whilst attending. ... Many members had sighted the COVID plan for our club, pinned on the notice board near the kitchen for all to see. It is this very document alone that certified Marconi CTC to start back up again post lock down by authority of the ACTA. On the night of the inspection licensing Police indicated that there was no cause for concern and we passed with flying colours, with the obvious exception of the COVID plan. After further internal review by superior officers, it was decided that a fine should be issued without notification to Marconi CTC. You may be asking why it was in the media? This is because any COVID breach must be listed publically. Unfortunately we were not notified prior to the release in the media so we were not able to confirm all the details published. That being said, we take full accountability for the breach and have now implemented processes which mean that there will be no further breaches possible, including securing our COVID plan in a secure facility so that it may be supplied to authorities upon request. The 2020 committee is determined to drive this club forward, to do that, we need all of you to rally with us, especially during these difficult times. This is but a bump in the road members, we will take this in our stride and evolve better than ever. We thank you all for your continued support. 09.01.2022 MARCONI CLAY TARGET CLUB - COVID-19 GUIDELINES Range will be open this Sunday 28th June Call 0401 528 716 to make a booking ... It is extremely important that everyone follows our guidelines so shooters can be confident that their health and safety won’t be jeopardised. We can shoot in groups of 3 per layout with social distancing measures. Our guidelines are as follows. 1. Bookings are MANDATORY - NO BOOKING NO SHOOT 2. Arrive 5 minutes before your allocated time to sign in and pay for your token. 3. Be mindful to finish your round 5 minutes earlier to pack up and clean around you, so the next shooter can start shooting. 4. There will be no more than 3 people inside the clubhouse at any one time and shooters must stick to the spots marked out on the floor. 5. Shooters will be allocated a trap upon arrival 6. Please do not congregate outside the club room or at the layout and remember your social distancing at all times. 7. Use the provided sanitisers when arriving and leaving. 8. Do not come to the club if you feel unwell. 9. No food, tea and coffee will be provided. 10. You MUST leave the grounds before the next allocated time slot, this will be strictly enforced. 11. Please respect the range officers and staff as we are trying to navigate our way through this difficult environment. 12. We are currently restricted to 8 people per time slot as staff are included in the 10 person limit, this rule is NOT up for negotiation if you are wanting to shoot in a larger group. Marconi Clay Target Club would appreciate everybody's cooperation in getting us back to the traps and we look forward to seeing you all on the range soon.

07.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we share the tragic news of the passing of Samuel Bartolo. Samuel has been a part of the shooting family since a very young age and has grown up with us all. When Samuel began shooting, he rapidly climbed the ranks and was one of the most humble young competitors the sport had ever seen. Those of you who were lucky to know Samuel, never seen him without a smile on his face - especially when with his beautiful family. We will miss his cheeky sp...irit beyond words. This week at Marconi Clay Target Club we had an inspection of our kitchen by Sutherland Shire Council and a COVID-19 Business inspection by Sutherland Shire Licensing Police and it is with great pleasure that we can inform our members and guests we passed both with flying colours! We thank all of our members for being cooperative and adhering to the guidelines set out in our COVID-19 Safety Plan - keeping our sport a safe one! Marconi Clay Target Club is COVID ...SAFE In light of these inspections, it has been advised by local authorities that holding our AGM inside the clubhouse will not comply with COVID-19 regulations. Therefore, we will be holding the AGM outdoors. Please note, the AGM will start at 9am SHARP for Marconi CTC Financial Members ONLY Our Sunday competition will start at 10am where all shooters are welcome.
