20.01.2022 There are three ways to get better results in any part of life: 1. You can try to find the answers yourself. You will make a big pile of mistakes, and you will lose time, energy, and money.... 2. You can hire someone quick and cheap. This is cost-effective, sure and you'll get a few good tips here and there. However, you won’t get the results you want, because they simply have no experience, or experience in up to the minute marketing tools specific to real estate. If they were the best, then they could and quite frankly would have to charge more to filter out those who aren't serious about it. 3. You can hire the best. An affordable option is cheaper only in the short term. In the long term, you and I know that it is always more expensive. It's the same thing as eating a $2 cheeseburger instead of a salad. You'll feel good after the burger, but in a few hours you'll find that you feel rubbish and unhealthy. A salad costs more at first and take longer to prepare, but in a few hours you'll feel a lot better. 13.01.2022 Looking back a few years ago, Tracey and I had a bit of a grateful chuckle at a $50 gift voucher wed been given by Phil Harris. It was for Chianti Restaurant, arguably one of Adelaides finest dining venues. I think $50 covers a smell of the kitchen aroma upon entry ... that kind of place. Wed just ditched the credit card, the harsh reality of living with cash, within our means was stark and there was no way wed be able to make use of the voucher. That voucher has since ...long expired, but we still have it, as a reminder of a path travelled, of choices made. Last night, the Harris Real Estate family gathered for its annual awards, a lovely cocktail party style event at the Stables in Victoria Park. A great opportunity to reconnect with a bunch of colleagues from all of the 5 Harris offices. Exciting to watch others being recognised for their efforts, a year of hard work. Exciting also to have received recognition myself, #1 Solo Sales Agent at Harris Real Estate - apparently one of the best amongst the best. Wow. How did that happen? There are so many great agents that I look up to in this company - my thanks goes to them for their support Each year, the Phil Harris award is given to one staff member, for contribution to company values, acknowledging efforts above and beyond. I feel truly humbled to have been recognised with this award as well. I enjoy my job, the opportunity that it gives me to meet new people, to help them fulfill their property goals and aspirations. But I get my buzz by helping new agents find their feet, stretching them to perfect the art-form that is real estate sales. Achieving a licence is a relative easy thing to do.
