24.01.2022 We've never had much luck selling liquid marinades, relishes, cooking sauces etc, but had a customer enquire about this recently... would anyone else be interested in Smokey Q Smoked Honey? Seems to be a few ways to use it. Have you heard of beer cheese?... you basically get a block of cream cheese and put it in a bowl with a bottle of Coopers green (or similar) overnight. The next day put the cheese on a serving platter drizzle it with loads of honey and serve it with a nice fresh baguette. And more beer. If there's any ranges you love, feel free to let me know of them. Our freezer is decently stocked with ready meals, but my drygoods wall is looking very empty. Time for some new goodies

24.01.2022 Cooked prawns are far outstripping raw prawns in orders this year...I have 60kg coming of cooked, and 41kg are already sold. Get your orders in ASAP so I know if I need to order more cooked! Lucky its not reversed; its much easier to cook a raw prawn than to uncook a cooked one

24.01.2022 Support the main street Sushi Train back on Thu Fri in the town square. Toot toot

24.01.2022 Does anyone want any cooked crabs? $25/kg cooked, I've gotta sell 15kg to make an order...

23.01.2022 *crickets* Think of us for dinner tonight....

23.01.2022 Its the what day of the what month now?!

21.01.2022 Rosa Brook Beef Jerky and Smokey Q Spice Rubs back in stock! Check out my rack!

21.01.2022 Last day to order! And pro-tip; Mrs Butcher doesn't 'do' sob stories, so lets get your order in today folks, hmmm? "Oh I've been stuck on MARS with no reception and my pet alien died and Christmas has just snuck up on me and I've been so busy saving the planted Gnarlar from the Bigaboggas I just haven't had time to order...."... Cool story; orders are still closed tomorrow! Absolute final cut off for all seafood to be locked in We will have products in our display cabinet as we do every year, including any 'extra' pork loin rolls, smoked ham and turkey rolls; but there will be no holds; you see it, you want it, you take it home!

21.01.2022 Coming up to 100 orders already, that's epic! A reminder the email is [email protected], and email orders are confirmed between 9 to 5 Monday to Friday Don't forget to also order things like kebabs, honey soy chicken nibbles, crumbed lamb cutlets and schnitzels. Some things like steaks and chops we can whip up in an instant but other things take time to replenish and if we sell out all of a sudden because a customer bought 5 kilos of honey soy nibbles, others ...may miss out. We can only sell our products once obviously, if someone wants 5 kilos and we have 5 kilos they get it, great! ... but we would like to make sure noone misses out this year. Other things to think about pre-ordering - scored and boneless pork bellies, pork belly strips, extra thick steaks, custom lamb/beef roasts, whole chickens and chicken marylands. Oh and we sell out of boerewors sausages weekly also. Bulk ribs, big hunks of meat for smokers or webers... Yum yum ! For the first time this year I will also not be taking any orders after the 19th of December. Any surplus products from the Christmas menu (there's always surplus) will be available in our cabinet for walk ins after that date but all orders will be allocated by the 19th.

21.01.2022 Our supplier has no oysters ! :( So sorry everyone..

20.01.2022 We have 54 orders in and its the 13th November.... Last year by the 4th December we only had 175...and ended up getting 550!! Thank you SO much for helping us prepare well in advance <3 You guys are the best.... And its soooo great to not only see our yearly regulars ordering (I have the weirdest memory for Christmas orders regarding surnames! They just stick in my brain) but we have SO many first time customers as well; you guys wont regret it. Shopping here is never a mis-steak <3 Mrs Butcher

20.01.2022 Oh wow, spring lambs are epic this year! I've had ... Loin chops Forequarter cutlets ... Lamb leg souvlaki Crumbed French cutlets ...in the last ten days Some of the best lamb meals I've ever had Pictured is a lamb leg souvlaki, with gravy made from the fat-removed juices of honey herb forequarter chops (which were slow cooked yesterday arvo, and served shredded through pesto tortellini with garlic mushrooms and cherry tomatoes)

19.01.2022 Made with our free range WA pork Bursts of flavour

18.01.2022 Trevor is feeling generous with the meat trays today ! Surely thats not a giant boneless roast on a raffle tray ? Suuurely there aren't four trays to win!? Get down to the Cowtown club

18.01.2022 Some sizing guidelines for you! I'm not lying when I say 4kg is the smallest ham you're gonna want to get; this big fatty is 11kg ($212), and the half is 6.2kg ($118). Yum yum

17.01.2022 The annual garden market is this Saturday in Brookfield! I've been to all of them and they're just lovely fun <3

17.01.2022 We now accept American Express credit card payments

16.01.2022 Well done and big double thumbs thanks to the DBCA crew that worked on the South Carters Rd fuel reduction burn today . It was a precision low intensity b...urn in near perfect conditions, following a wet start to November. This area has not been burnt since 2008 and forms a significant fire risk that could directly impact Margaret River townsite during a summer bushfire. It’s a major win for the region to have finally achieved this fuel reduction. It was also great to see and hear so many surrounding home owners making the effort to thank fire crews for undertaking this hot, dirty and smoky work. Anyone that lives near such an enormous potential firebomb can appreciate how much better it is to reduce the fuel now instead of waiting for a fire disaster. Property owners talked of previous fires in this bush where flames were crowning 20 metres above the tree line! The window of opportunity to get this work done is getting shorter and shorter every year and it’s a credit to the DBCA fire management team for having prioritised this burn for the Margaret River community and dedicated so many personnel and resources to the job. The main burn and edging works were achieved today. However this is a complex burn that needs multiple ignitions over coming days to help preserve biodiversity and reduce the fuels in a variety of different forest types including Karri and Jarrah, so you can expect to see and smell smoke for the next week or so. DBCA will have a long-term commitment to complete, patrol and mop up into coming weeks so they will be out there for a while longer yet. We reckon they’ve earned a wave or a thumbs up as a show of appreciation when you drive by .

16.01.2022 Hit pause at 2:10 ! Also a certain full time employee is missing, but they're totally fine with that and not at all jealous (and they definitely weren't eating a JFC burger at Burger Baby at the time, oh the irony!)

16.01.2022 Steve the Baker has just delivered a fresh, hot basket of free-form bread loaves and $5 baguettes! Still warmmmmmmmm.

14.01.2022 LAST DAY FOR CHRISTMAS ORDERS Thursday 17th December ‘Bulk Buy Package Deals’ cut off 10th Dec (Sunny arvo, family, steak attack and couples packs for Christmas MUST be pre-ordered, or they will be full, weighed price after that date)... 14.01.2022 From Western Power: "We'll shortly be carrying out important work in your area. To ensure the safety of our crew and the community, we'll need to turn off your power while we complete this work. Property to be affected: Unit 2 120 Bussell Hwy Margaret River 6285... Start time: Monday, 21 September 2020 at 08:00 AM End time: Monday, 21 September 2020 at 05:00 PM" What in the actual? No problems, we'll power our six freezers, two walk in fridges and two display cabinets with the power of love....

14.01.2022 Exciting new product! Rosa Brook Pasture Fed Chickens, yes you read right...LOCAL chickens from a LOCAL chicken farmer. Not organic - but the next best thing.... $18.99/kg In the stand-up freezer Each bird is around $30+ so approx 1.6+ kg We have ten to sell so don't hesitate!

14.01.2022 Our Berry Farm product prices have risen as of today. The chef never really intended to continue making the take-home meals after the shutdown, but they are proving to be so popular he has agreed to continue supply to us, but at a more realistic price. (was anyone else shocked at how cheap their Berry Farm home delivery was?? I double checked the receipt) Also an important note on the big lasagna...if you bought one before now you should be super chuffed; as they were accide...ntally priced AT cost....so you got yourself a reallllly good deal! (my bad) New prices: 3kg Lasagna $36.95 ea 1.1kg Lasagna $18.95 ea 1.9kg Beef Pie $32.95 ea Thanks for understanding :) - Kori

13.01.2022 Christmas Orders are Open! Reading the novel below is technically optional, but this is my 6th Christmas at the shop and I have my finger firmly inserted into t...he fruit mince pie, and aim to make all your festive meat dreams come true. Email orders are preferred. I have deleted all of last years emails to keep it clean and simple; I am not keen on fluffing up. In store orders are our next preference, then phone call orders, which to be honest we'd like you to leave as a last resort as it can get stressful if the shop is busy, and the phone already rings far too often Order early to avoid disappointment; we sold out of 'normal' size range whole turkeys by about the 10th of December last year (including all pre-orders for stock delivered Christmas week) Our West Australian leg hams are SMOKED IN STORE and are the best; guaranteed. (We will not be producing any nitrate free hams this year; message if you would like details about why) Seafood prices will be confirmed ASAP, but not likely any time before Christmas fortnight. You must order seafood; salmon, oysters and prawns and white fish to avoid disappointment. After successful implementation for two years, I am 100% confident you can rely on our handy portioning guide to work out the weight/size you will need to feed your guests. Nobody has called on the 27th and yelled at me yet, so that's a good sign... Our database is sorted using your last name and pick-up date; so both these being correct is important, or better yet remember your number shocking concept I know. We actually cheer when people remember their number I'm also evolving, and will recognise a bunch of you wonderful regulars, and have your orders before you give me your number. (Very impressive; I know. I'm waiting for the Queen to call and congratulate me.) Pretty please do not order for a date earlier than you intend to pick up; there is less chance your order will be found easily. You think you're being sneaky, I know We had 520 Christmas orders last year + retail walk-ins + we supply wholesale to a lottt of local restaurants, cafes and roadhouses including whoppers like the Brewhouse, Colonial, Burger Baby and The Berry Farm. Thank you so much for shopping local. As you always are each year, be kind, be patient, and be understanding towards those who give up their holidays to facilitate yours <3 Well, nothing else left to say but.... Ho ho oh no, here we go.. again! - Kori

11.01.2022 In the 5 years that I have had this page I have never once posted anything like this. Please help if you can. The situation has nothing to do with me personally, but I have chosen to insert myself in it, rather than scroll by...which is also usually something I don't do but, when the cause is right... -Kori

10.01.2022 P L O V E R P A L E The Hooded Plover is in a bit of trouble in our area with only around 11 nesting couples remaining Cape to Cape. With the help of Na...ture Conservation Margaret River Region , the Margaret River Regional Environmental Centre and other local environmental agencies and groups we are trying to help their plight. So for all of September, $1 from the sale of every pint of Plover Pale sold at Margaret River Brewhouse will be donated to the protection and awareness of the Hooded Plover. Help a Hoodie, drink a beer... win win! Huge thanks to Zendoke for the artwork Find out more about the Hoodie: https://www.margaretriverbrewhouse.com.au/post/plover-pale

09.01.2022 Stuck for Christmas gift ideas for the grown-ups? I can guarantee this will go down well with almost anyone! (Perhaps just not your vegan auntie hey?) Vouchers an be used towards Christmas orders, or for over-the-counter purchases any-time, no expiry date (within reason- new owners x years from now probably wont honour it ).... I can also make it any amount...everything helps this time of year, so if you shout someone $20 off their December meat budget, you know they'll love you for it. This is just a quick whip up of our standard voucher; I am planning to Christmas-ify it, and make it all festive. I will provide them in clear plastic sleeves also, but not laminating as its expensive and wasteful for a single use voucher. Vouchers are only available as a hard-copy/print-out. One month to go!

09.01.2022 According to this we will have new footpaths, and no construction fences out the front, in time for the school holidays... that is one week from now... But to get new footpaths we have to make like ZZ Top... And be a back door shop.. I know it's tricky to get to us, but we know you'll trek for this meat!... I will update to confirm the situation when I see it happening with my own eyes. Open tomorrow 21st as normal. -Kori

09.01.2022 Oysters locked in Was a bit of a scare there for a minute, but we have 135 dozen coming and will fill all orders, with some to spare for in-store shoppers. Seafood orders are closed.... Turkey roll and whole turkey orders are closed. HAMS ready to go and available now, no holds; take home today, use-by well into late January. Ham bag and instructions supplied with every ham. Steve the bread man has just delivered his bread, and we have a bit of seafood today but likely will sell out!

07.01.2022 When you email your order it gets handwritten into our Christmas books so don't be alarmed if I don't confirm immediately, I will only do so between 9-5 weekdays and some Saturdays

07.01.2022 The official post for the Mark McCOWan burger.

05.01.2022 Get your orders in now for NYE oysters, delivered on Thursday 31st in the morning $25/doz

04.01.2022 Are there any community groups who have shire approval for sausage sizzles who want to set one up out the front of our shop in a month - for the street party ? I will reach out to Brumby's regarding the bread, and the Garden Basket for onions, so all you need to worry about is: BBQs/tables, sauce, napkins, shire approval, and some happy little sausage sizzling elves to man the sizzle. Ill crack open one of Tom Prince's hot sauces for those who want a kick up the behind with... their sausage haha. All profits to your charity/organisation/community group of course Our shop shuts at 5:30, so would be looking at sizzling from 3-6pm :)

03.01.2022 Margaret River Gourmet Meats has made the decision to shut on the day of the power-outage, Monday September 21st. We are able to source a generator etc, but decided to take this a sign that we should have a day off. It will be the last chance for a breather before Christmas (in 107 days!) I will be encouraging everyone to come down on Saturday the 19th and help us clear out our stock :) (We will still be sourcing generators to keep the freezers and one chiller running for our stock. No half price dumplings this time, sorry!)

02.01.2022 Access update: So the pavers in front of the shop will remain, its only the footpath being torn up. Therefore we should still have front door access diverted diagonally from Riversmith. Ironically foot traffic will actually be diverted CLOSER to our shop

02.01.2022 Its starting to feel a lot like.... We have officially taken more Christmas orders in 2020 than we ever have before. An absolutely phenomenal amount of seafood has been pre-ordered, and we have 146 orders being picked up on the 23rd so if you are one of them pleeeeeeeeaaaaase remember your order number. ... We have 4x butchers, 2x full time counter hands, 1x part time counter hand, 1x delivery driver and thats it. That's the whole MRGM team! Be gentle on us, and if we make a mistake, I promise Christmas wont be ruined forever. Its all going to be ok! Love from Mrs Butcher the happy little Christmas elf

02.01.2022 We haven't had a heads up yet, but it seems the 'footpath closed' sign is approaching. Currently there is no main street access past the health food shop for pedestrians. We're all still here and open!

01.01.2022 These. Are. SOOOO. Tasty. ... Get in to Burger Baby and get one!! I mean it!!

01.01.2022 Margaret River Tapas and Bar. Dousts Corner next to Yahava Two mushroom and manchego croquettes, the cured kingfish gespacho and hand cut kipfler bravas for the little miss. Other dishes include los boquerones, tempura whiting tortillas, eggplant caponata, chicken bastilla, crab cassoulet, and more ... So many gluten-free, vegetarian, dairy free and vegan options too (I often get vego dishes because I never cook vego at home ! If a chef can't make amazing vegetarian food then... Well... Fully licenced, cocktails too !

01.01.2022 I can vouch that the beef patties are very good!

01.01.2022 Call me crazy, but doesn't the entire town have a fridge full of meat yet? How much meat can Margaret River eat? Allll of the meat.... All of it. Regardless of what you call me, I am officially crazy. What a year! Thank you to all our wonderful customers <3 We truly appreciate your custom and hope we have served you well this year!
