08.01.2022 INVITE TO STATE CANDIDATES FOR A MEETING TO DISCUSS DIVISION 1 Subject: Request for in person meeting with State Candidates for Hinchinbrook with Division 1 Councillor Dear Nick, Scott, Jen, Aurelio and Paul... Firstly congratulations on being nominated to run for your party, or to the independents I applaud you for backing yourself. It is an enormous role that comes with a lot of responsibility, time, passion and commitment to the people. As some of you are aware, I have been the local councillor now for Division 1 for just over 4 years, I am very thankful for the opportunity to represent the people in my division, a role I have learnt on the way in most cases, but now going into my second term I would like to be a bit more structured with the Projects that require state investment. If you are elected, I would like to preamp a meeting with you to sit down properly , document and discuss the current projects the community have highlighted to me that require state funding support. I would like to set a plan for the next 3 years as to what major projects we could work on that the community have identified. Nick has been a very supportive state member, right up until today before we go into caretaker mode. I wish to publicly thank Nick for his continued support and wish him all the best for the upcoming election. My commitment to my current state member Mr Nick Dametto finishes when we go into caretaker mode., If you are elected I would like to continue doing what I currently do with our state member, which is: Attend community gathers as a united front. Share issues so we can solve them quicker. Build on relationship with your staff so the information can flow freely. In times of Natural disasters , be a united front and continue to serve as one. I personally don’t belong to any party, and as a local councillor morally I don’t believe I should be supporting a party during caretaker role as this is the role of the candidate to tell our community what you will support them on., but once your are elected you will have my support no matter what party. I would like to offer and open invitation for an in person meeting to discuss what your vision is for Division 1, what you stand for and how you think this will work into the future. My details are below, please feel free to contact me for a meeting time. I wish you all the best up to the 31st of October, and look forward to working with whoever is the elected state member. Warm Regards Cr Margie Ryder Councillor Division 1 P 0439 915 033 F 07 4727 9050 E [email protected] W www.townsville.qld.gov.au
