25.01.2022 YES, Marian Market IS on again today ( change of dates so it doesn't clash with Pioneer Valley Show) and YES Melba House will have a stall there again to showcase the wonderful craft & gift lines thar we sell at the House. Our stall is just inside the Hall as you walk in - set up between the 2 doorways. Hope to see you there amd remember all proceeds go to keeping this totally unfunded, fully volunteer run, icon open.,

The freshwater dam is a great spot to fish (you will require a fishing permit which c...an be purchased from Melba House at Marian, or most bait and tackle stores). The Pioneer Valley is MUCH MUCH MORE than just seeing a platypus at Broken River. We invite our Community to join us as this is a great opportunity to show "the powers that be" that our region deserves funding too and fair & equal tourism & business marketing of the ENTIRE Valley. In the last month alone we have been excluded from 5 MAJOR visiting tourism media... & social media marketing campaigns and television travel shows. We are all volunteers at Melba House and are totally unfunded. Any marketing opportunity we can organise ourselves must be utilised to the maximum to promote OUR community, OUR businesses, OUR attractions and OUR residents. We have so much to offer and so much valuable knowledge to share. Let's stand together so that we can't be overlooked. 20.01.2022 In recognition of our Pioneer Valley heritage and the hard work to establish the Wests Tigers, this Jersey will be worn by players in all 3 teams this Saturday ...night at Tiger Park. There is also a set that will be sold to the public through auctions and raffles. Please contact the Club on 49592 480 if you are interested in bidding on a jersey. There are a few changes this year: Family Pass No 1 allows admission for 2 adults and up to 3 children under 16yrs for $35. Family Pass No 2 allows admission for 2 adults and 4 or more children under 16 yrs for $40. Please note that Family Passes ...are only available for pre-purchase and are NOT available at the gate on the day. The Family Passes now consist of only ONE ticket, not as in previous years with an individual ticket given for each adult & child etc. This will mean that the Family all enter the gate at the same time. ALL TICKET SALES ARE CASH ONLY. Individual tickets are: Adult 18 and over: $16. 11.01.2022 Crediton Hall camping area Crediton Hall camping area Dog (Pet) friendly camp site This spacious flat campsite on a grassy reserve next to the Broken River f...rom where you can see the platypus in the wild is perfect for tent camping beside your car; walk-in camping; caravans; camper trailers; motorhomes; 14.7 km south-east of Eungella, offers camping for up to 24 people. To reach it, turn off Eungella Dam Rd 8 km south of Eungella and follow Crediton Loop Rd 6.7 km to the camping area. Crediton Hall is a designated campsite on the Mackay Highlands Great Walk, and is 11.2 km from Fern Flat camping area and (Eungella National Park) 19.5 km from Denham Range camping area. Facilities: The water must be boiled or treated before drinking, composting toilets, picnic tables, Free BBQ and shelter. Coming Soon: Shower Facilities and Powered Sites This 56 km, 35 day walk allows experienced and self-sufficient hikers to see everything from rugged cliffs and cool rainforests to open eucalypt woodland and a 1880s gold-mining hamlet. Some sections of the track require a high level of physical fitness, and the track is easier to manage if approached north to south, from Pine Grove in Eungella National Park to Mt Britton township. Camping permit required, how to book: Crediton Hall camping area is managed by Mackay Regional Council. Campers must self-register upon arrival using the self-registration envelopes available from a dispenser at the toilet block. Melba House is open and Vintage Kiss Coffee Van is set up in our car park so come on down !!!! and to the #@%* brainless morons who thought it was funny to do burnouts in our carpark last night and to rearrange our signage, thanks for creating even more work for our elderly volunteers today. Yes, we open on public holidays for the benefit of our tourists, visitors and our own Community. Yes, we are totally unfunded here and we pay for everything out of our own pockets so your and NO your actions are not appreciated in this community.

09.01.2022 FISHING PERMITS. There will be changes to the Stocked Impoundment scheme ( fishing in Eungella,Teemburra & Kinchant Dams and other stocked dams in Qld) as of the 1st July. The current handwritten permit system will not be available after the 30th June. Melba House will be licensed to issue the new digital permits but Fisheries Qld will be increasing prices and changing conditions. Current price is Weekly $8. New price is $10. Yearly is currently $41. New price will be $...50. Discounted Yearly will remain the same at $36. The major difference will be that NO couples permits will be issued after June 30th, so for example a husband and wife will then need to purchase a separate permit EACH. Anyone wanting to purchase a yearly permit now before the changes come into effect on July 1st, will save you between $36 - $59. 05.01.2022 Country Gardens at Glendaragh Road Farleigh has Point of Lay 24 week old chickens in red, black, white - commercial crossbreeds for $25ea and 7 day old commercial pullets - red, brown australorp cross commercial for $8.50ea. Frank also has a huge range of vegetable seedlings, all sun grown and chemical free. All have established root systems for reliable replanting and each $4.50 punnet has many more than the usual amount of seedlings. Country Gardens is open every day from 10am - 4pm.
