19.01.2022 Fioretto mmmmm deliziosi! Tender and sweet babay cauliflower. I make this amazing Sicilian dish with Fioretto It’s as authentic as my Sicilian mum and dad. It’s ingredients are basic. Spaghetti, Onion, pine nuts, olive oil sultanas, tomato and a little anchovy. Then a sprinkle of fried breadcrumb. Peasant food it was but peasant food it’s not! I’ve seen it pop up here and there on fancy restaurant menu’s. I laugh inside my head,because I know that what is old is always new and on trend again! 15.01.2022 Today is fathers day - my dad has been gone for 32 years and my mum only 15 weeks. So I cooked some of their faves in their honour for our family get together tonight. Here’s some of the dishes !

14.01.2022 Stuffed capsicum, two hour slow cooked - these are not a Sicilian recipe but one from my Macedonian friends! There’s rice, herbs, beef mince and paprika in the stuffing. The paprika has submerged itself into the tomato sauce and it is a magnificant flavour!!!. Can’t wait for dinner tonight - I made some garlic lemon and oregano potatoes to add to the experience!

07.01.2022 Just a little 60th last night for customers of old Giuseppe’s! It was great to see them again. So many years have flown and it’s always a pleasure to catch up with my wonderful customers of another era! Happy birthday Julie. I only took two photos whilst I was on my roller skates but there was Arancini , bruschetta, prawn Siracusa on skewers and of course Sicilian meatballs and penne pasta! What a beautiful gift! You guys are so cute. This morning I wake up to find dozens of new followers. Thankyou I enjoyed reading the beautiful comments and seeing familiar faces making contact with me. You all made my day!

02.01.2022 It's recipe day!!! These little delicate meatballs are a reminder of my childhood tastes and aromas. Made with a few ingredients, the truth of life's pleasures, magnified that less is more. My father would often make these and sometimes if there were leftovers, we would eat them cold, the next day in a bread roll.
