21.01.2022 Update on Coronavirus Message from the President 15 March 2020 Dear Swifties,... I know many of you are concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic and how that will impact on the soccer season. At this point, all training and pre-season games will continue as normal, based on the latest advice from the government and Football Victoria. The government has banned events that gather more than 500 people, effective from Monday 16 March. In accordance with the latest government advice, Football Victoria has announced that all FV competition and games will continue this weekend. But they will review their policy after this weekend. Should any member of the Swifts family come into contact with a person who has contracted COVID-19, we will follow Football Victoria’s advice on attending training and games. Should any member of the Swifts family contract COVID-19, we will inform members immediately and provide advice on appropriate action after seeking advice from Football Victoria and the government. We will continue to review our stance, and update all members, on training and pre-season games as both Football Victoria and the Government update their advice. In addition to training and games, we have several pre-season social and fundraising events planned. The MSFC Committee has agreed to CANCEL the Mulan Movie Fundraiser scheduled for the 28 March. Although the movie doesn’t fit within the Government’s ban on public gatherings, last Friday Disney decided to delay the release of Mulan. As a result, the club needed to decide whether we wanted to change to a different movie or postpone until Mulan’s new release date (which Disney has not set). We agreed to postpone the fundraiser instead of choosing a different movie because the speed at which the Government’s advice changes, we felt it was prudent to cancel now. The Committee has also planned to hold a jersey presentation night for junior players (15 April) and pre-season social drinks for senior players (17 April). No decision has been made about the future of these events. As of today, these events are still going ahead, with the proviso that government advice on COVID-19 has been changing rapidly. We will continue to monitor government advice on social gatherings, and make an informed decision based on updated advice closer to the event date. Please be assured that the safety of our players and families are our first priority and we will be providing updates regularly as official advice changes. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected]. Regards, Diane Zhang President, MSFC https://www.footballvictoria.com.au//coronavirus-guidance-
