25.01.2022 "They sicken of the calm, who knew the storm." (Dorothy Parker)

24.01.2022 Our barista will be in slightly late on Tuesday as he will be going for his once-a-year swim in the river. Never fear, though, in his absence, Darlene will make sure you are well supplied with your usual cappucinos, flat whites and hot chocolates.

24.01.2022 We will be CLOSED on Friday 22 July. We apologise for the inconvenience. We hope to see you back at The Marina Cafe as usual on Monday the 25th.

24.01.2022 The last fling of summer perhaps? Standing out on the jetty at the Prince of Wales Bay Marina looking back towards the cafe.

23.01.2022 Sometimes early mornings are the best!

23.01.2022 Our love affair with avocado continues. Fresh Tassie salmon with spicy tomato relish, avocado salsa and polenta chips.

22.01.2022 Good morning Hobart. What a spectacular start to the day here at the Prince of Wales Bay Marina

21.01.2022 Hobart, city of angry skies and friendly rainbows. Within minutes of each other! Just some of the views this morning from the Marina Cafe.

19.01.2022 Dear Friends of Marina Cafe Darlene and Raj are taking a short end-of-winter break. The cafe will be closed from Monday 29 August to Friday 2 September. We will re-open on Monday 5 September. It will be Spring and we have plans for new items on the menu (and a new mural too). We look forward to seeing you then.

19.01.2022 Not such a great day for sailing .... But a great day for pumpkin soup! "They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep." Psalm 107

18.01.2022 Friday will be a sad day for us at Marina Cafe as we say goodbye to everyone's favourite barista Rajan. We will miss your wit, whimsy and wisdom Raj. Morning coffee will never be the same. We wish you luck in the next stage of your amazing journey and hope you'll put in a guest appearance at the Marina from time to time.... Farewell friend. You will be missed far more than you will ever know.

17.01.2022 Congratulations to Tasmanian Boat Charters on the launch today of their new vessel, Odalisque. We trust all your guests at the launch, including the Premier of Tasmania, Mr Will Hodgman MP, enjoyed the catering provided by the Marina Cafe. We look forward to working with you in the months and years ahead to help you showcase some of Tasmania's most magical places to locals and tourists alike.

17.01.2022 If you're planning to stay at the new MOAB (The Museum of Old and New Art's Accommodation in Berriedale), drop in and see us just down the road at the Marina Cafe. But don't all 50,000 of you come at once!

17.01.2022 Exchanging coffee grounds for wonderfully aromatic coriander - seems like we got the better of that exchange!

15.01.2022 Welcome to Autumn! Everyone's commenting about the new mural at the Marina Cafe.

15.01.2022 Avocados are back in season! All is once again right with the world. Big shout out to the growers up on the beautiful Atherton Tableland of North Queensland.

13.01.2022 We have a new sign! Many thanks to the guys from 2 Blokes and Their Tools

12.01.2022 It has been a pleasure to have Celestial and Abracadabra - two of the yachts in the recent Sydney to Hobart race - moored at "our" marina this week. We wish their crews fair winds as they set sail for their home ports.

12.01.2022 Brrr! Good day for the special of the day at the Marina Cafe. Asian chicken and vegetable soup with dumplings and crusty sourdough bread.

04.01.2022 Katsu chicken is a dish of crumbed chicken, served in strips, with a tangy Japanese sauce and steamed rice. Just one of the daily specials at the Marina Cafe.

03.01.2022 The kids of Prince of Wales Bay reckon that our barista reminds them of Raj the corner-store owner, a character in David Walliams' series of children's books who is always a source of good advice (and of icecreams and chocolates).

03.01.2022 Summer is over! And that means the Marina Cafe is returning to its normal opening hours: Monday to Friday: 6am - 3:30pm Saturday and Sunday: closed It also means that it's time to change the blackboard mural. Any artists out there?
