06.01.2022 I have entered a few photography competitions lately so I'll be sharing the images over the coming weeks. This was the easiest one to share first. My first time entering the Rise International Photography Awards 2019 in the Family Category - a category I never enter. This one was a special shoot of my brother, his wife and my little nephew. I have a huge respect for family and newborn photographers! It isn't easy to capture little ones
06.01.2022 So this happened last Tuesday night at my first Australian Professional Photography Awards (APPA)(nationals) dinner. I was sooooo surprised to be a finalist in the 2019 AIPP APPA Australian Photography Book of the Year! So unexpected and I'm so profoundly humbled While that was absolutely amazing, I am really super proud to have received my Associate Honours and will indeed wear it with honour. ... I also happened to score three silver awards and a coveted 79 badge ... Same result as last year except I didn't beat my lowest score this year. Ah well, can't win em all But the best part of the awards is getting to hang out with fabulous human beings and meeting new fabulous ones. Life is a real tricky business and for all the times I feel like giving up, I have this fabulous support network that always gives me a reason to keep plodding along. Special thanks to my photography besties Matthew Vasilescu and Naomi Reiter - you know if it wasn't for you two ... My helper gene would probably be of service to some government organisation and I'd be suffocating in an office somewhere with a bird shit covered sky light (true story). And to everyone else whose kind words of encouragement and support mean so much - if you only knew - sometimes, those little things mean everything! Thank you AIPP, there are too many of you to thank individually and while I didn't win anything magnificent like a category, I always feel like a winner being around the wonderful humans who come together for our state and national awards That also includes some fabulous humans who also sponsor our events and are a part of the #extendedaippfambam
