12.01.2022 Friday has rolled around again, which means it's dinner time at the Marina View Cafe!

12.01.2022 ***URGENT MESSAGE*** The marina view cafe as well as the Royal Geelong Yacht Club will be closed from today(18th March) at 4pm until further notice due to growing safety concerns of corona virus (more accurate details to be confirmed) This was a difficult decision as a management team to make, were sorrry for the shock and inconvenience, although we feel in good judgement.... I will keep everyone posted on any updates as the management team make the plans around this. The following message is from the Comadore (John Kint) and addressed to the members if the club: "Dear Members, I advise that last evening the RGYC Board resolved to suspend all club operations from 4.00pm TODAY, Wednesday 18 March 2020. As every member will be aware, the world is in unprecedented conditions and in sailing terms, unchartered waters. The COVID-19 pandemic outbreak is continuing its rapid spread and Governments are escalating risk mitigation strategies in an endeavour to stop the spread. As a nation and a local community we must minimise social gatherings and minimise the risk of worsening the spread of the virus throughout the community. Accordingly, the Board is determined to not organise or facilitate events, activities or functions, either formally or informally, that require people to congregate in any manner, thereby limiting any opportunity to contract or pass on the virus. The Board acknowledges its duty to act in the best interests of members and staff at all times." We wish everyone to be safe at this difficult time for all of us and encourage everyone to support local business throughout this ordeal and once the pandemic is over.
