11.01.2022 Dear South Australian public, Whilst the state will be on a 'pause' for the next 6 days, I wish to confirm to everyone that Foodbank SA as an essential service... will continue to provide food to charities and families in need across the state. As such, all Foodbank Food Hubs and warehouses will continue to operate over the coming 6 day lockdown. Foodbank is the last line for providing food relief to vulnerable members of our community and our services will be required more than ever in the coming days. Please stay safe, together we can do this. Yours sincerely, Greg Pattinson (Foodbank SA CEO). #foodbanksa #covid19 #endhunger #lockdown

PDG Bob Korotcoff OAM welcomed all in attendance and acknowledged members from 17 other clubs across the district who had made their way to our special event. He noted we are the only club to so far, charter during COVID19. His Worship, Mr Kris Hanna, Mayor, City of Marion toasted Lions Club International and later gave President Judy Glastonbury a personal cheque for $200... which was gratefully received. District Governor Norm Sommerville presented the Charter to Marion City President Judy Glastonbury with Lion President Carol Holt toasting our newly chartered club and following, presented to Judy our gong and gavel. Marion City President Judy Glastonbury then introduced the Board and Charter Members. Also presented to the club was a photograph of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Australian Flag which was kindly donated to us by Ms Nicolle Flint, MP, Member for Boothby. Our 2nd VDG Ruth Pearsons inducted three new members to our club and then there was a special presentation to Lion Jan Chant of the James D Richardson Honour Award for her outstanding contribution to the club and community through her work on the Dementia Fiddle Mats. The event closed with the Raffle Draw and Silent Auction results with thanks and congratulations to all the winners for their generous contributions.
