24.01.2022 A matching pair of gold pendant for lifetime best friends - Jules and Brenda have been besties since Grade 1. Without giving too much away, that's a number of decades of being each other's support through all kinds of life events. The perfect gift and celebration for such a relationship - wherever they are physically in this world, their friendship will always be there, as true as a compass @ Busselton, Western Australia

24.01.2022 A simple piece of gold, that can become so many things. Today it became 2 soon-to-be pendants

22.01.2022 When you see a finished piece, I know you all appreciate it. . I love the alchemy behind creating, and this piece is getting all the action as I make yellow, rose and white gold to create it. . All manufactured gold starts as 24ct gold, then you add copper, silver or an alloy mix of non precious metals in the correct percentage to create the type of gold you want. ... . Getting the weight right means the correct mix - down to .001 of a gram. . Something to keep my brain working and focused in this time of scattered thoughts... . Now to just have the time to make the actual pieces!! Things are going a bit slower in my workshop currently, and I will give myself the grace to do what I can rather than try to do it all. @ Busselton, Western Australia See more

22.01.2022 Recreating a ring - you'll have to trust me on it being a plain bezel set ring before we reimagined this beauty to show off the splendor of the main stone. Now @njhumphreyessentials_ can wear her mum's precious stones in her own design. @ Busselton, Western Australia

21.01.2022 I love being able to expand my skillset and create what my clients are after. This sterling silver handstamped and etched pendant was a lot of fun to make. From solitaire diamond rings to precious silver keepsake jewellery, it feels so good to make my work individualised for you

21.01.2022 Little more work in progress pics from the twin pendants, and an update on the lovely madi's ring, because I think the countdown is really on she just wants to hurry up and get married!! @ Busselton, Western Australia

19.01.2022 How to 'simply' change a ring so the main diamond gets the attention it deserves... By adding to the height of the centre stone, this ring now has a whole new lease on life. Sparkle away.... @ Busselton, Western Australia

18.01.2022 I loved making this ring, remodelled from my client's gold, diamonds and sapphire. The design reflected a much loved ring she already had. But.... I only have this photo of the process. Sadly I somehow deleted 2 months worth of work and also personal family photos. Luckily I had sent this photo to the new owner otherwise I'd have no record at all. Small mercies for technology huh??

16.01.2022 Sunday setting making - the week certainly didn't go as planned with Miss 8 at home - so the weekend has come in handy to catch up a bit. @ Busselton, Western Australia

15.01.2022 I was very honoured to create a fitted wedding ring for @madisonhook_ to complement her sentimental engagement ring. I also gave her engagement ring some new claws so she can wear it for years to come. Such a pretty and delicate set, congratulations again to you both @ Busselton, Western Australia

14.01.2022 When you have a unique name, it requires custom made jewellery!! . 9ct rose gold name plate for a special lady, to celebrate a very special birthday. @ Busselton, Western Australia

13.01.2022 Making a Russian wedder - the trick to these rings is make the separate rings the correct size so that when they are joined it is the finger size you need. . Yes! I got a rare day in the workshop, and loved the sun pouring through my window as I worked and listen to an ebook. . These Covid times have meant that I haven't had blocks of time to spend in my workshop - but it won't be long til I can have that freedom again. This is a necessary season to be in, and it's allowed me... to do so many non jewellery things, so I am very grateful. . But I still can't wait to reignite the simmering pot that is my jewellery passion.... @ Busselton, Western Australia See more

12.01.2022 A very significant redesign for Emma, from her old gold and diamonds. I'm always so honoured when asked to create jewellery for people. @ Busselton, Western Australia

11.01.2022 A block of gold and some imagination.... . So much fun to be had!!

10.01.2022 First melt for a while, always inspiring to be re imagining a creation for someone...

09.01.2022 A very special bangle, remelted family gold and stones, now all in one place. I truly love making jewellery. The stories that are behind old gold, or creating something new from scratch for that special person or occasion. I've made the decision to close off new appointments until October. For those who have been in contact with me for pieces, I am slowly working my way through my workshop schedule to yours. ... I'm not going anywhere, I'm just slowing down my pace to balance my life better. You can still expect to see me every now and then with my progressive shots, and with a fresher sense of creativity. Thanks again for all your ongoing support, especially in this trying times for so many

08.01.2022 Another beautiful masculine ring, Australian made and just what he was after. Now that we are so much more aware of our chain of production, buying local and handmade ensures you know exactly what you're getting, with fantastic quality and support for Australian industry.

07.01.2022 What's next on my bench??

06.01.2022 Some work in action, hot off the bench today. Lots of little repairs done and some more commissioned pieces started. It just felt like a good day to be on the bench, creating new things and ticking off the to-do list.

05.01.2022 A year in photos.... I'm always surprised by the number of pieces I make, as when I'm in the thick of creating, I simply don't realise what I've accomplished. This year was very different for so many, yet I felt so supported in my business and privileged to be entrusted with your precious family pieces to recreate them and create some pieces from raw materials.... This image displays everything so simply, but behind the scenes, in my one person workshop, this year was exhausting. I love creating for you, and have put my heart and soul in to growing Marita Hammer Jewellery for the past 8 years. My personal life has revolved around my business - when it's only you, you just need to get things done when it's your only source of income. I could not have done this all without you. I thank you so much for seeing my potential and allowing me the creative freedoms you have. With that in mind, I've decided to close my appointment schedule until further notice, so I can give myself some much needed grace and time, reconnect with relationships that have fallen to the wayside and to clear my pending jobs. This may take a while..... I will continue posting, with my client's permission, works in progress. For anyone who has spoken with me in the last year about creating pieces, you are still on my list. For those of you who hadn't yet talked about making something, please know this was a difficult decision. I know so well that my reputation, reliability and craftsmanship is what has grown my business, but this ultimately can't come before my family and peace of mind. I will be back to it, and will let you know when that will be. Renewed, reinspired, ready to go, when the time is right. May 2021 bring much love, calm and abundance to you all. I am so very grateful that you've supported me in the ways you've been able to over the years. Whatever way Marita Hammer Jewellery morphs in to it's next phase, I look forward to having you there as well. Much love, M

05.01.2022 Oh to be in my workshop for more than a few hours a week! . I was able to get this ring closer to being completed in the time I had, a remake using precious diamonds from mum - it will be well worth the wait, for myself and my patient client @ Busselton, Western Australia

04.01.2022 Sending you love and gratitude this Christmas and always

04.01.2022 Ross and Shannon decided today would still happen for them, and although it was different to their original plans, I would say the 2 most important people were there. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness, with a huge party to celebrate again when the time is right @ Busselton, Western Australia

04.01.2022 Bringing my jewellery skills to the essential oil world - I was honoured to be asked to create this custom 9ct gold diffuser bracelet for @tranquil_tribe. Featuring a handmade solid gold hexagon bead, Amazonite and lava bead. . Amazonite is used to help with harmony and balance. It is also used for prosperity. Everyone can do with a bit more of these things!!

03.01.2022 A special remodelled pendant out of 18ct and Platinum with beautiful diamond - all from mum to daughter @ Busselton, Western Australia

02.01.2022 The transformation is complete.... I was asked by an old workmate whom I worked with during my jewellery apprenticeship to remodel her rings for her. It's so very special to be a part of someone's journey and give it the honour it deserves. ... This one really sparkles, just like the new chapter for my friend @ Busselton, Western Australia

02.01.2022 A little update on one of my current pieces on my bench - she's coming together. @ Busselton, Western Australia

01.01.2022 Creating a ring to mirror the organic design in Mel's existing bracelet was such a pleasure to do. Using her gold and diamonds from a current ring, the outcome was wonderful for me to make and for her to now be able to wear them together @ Busselton, Western Australia

01.01.2022 Hello! It's been a while, I know. Thanks for sticking around. I'm still here, working away at my bench and creating when I can. I like to do things a bit differently, so this bangle resize gave me the perfect excuse to jazz it up.
