Here's some quick news that will be of interest to you. It’s Mark Austin, author of Ringle Tingle Tiger. A book about helping children face fear, building courage, confidence and resilience, with a great message, rollicking rhyming verse and colourful papercut illustrations by long time Victorian resident David Miller. Two quick snippets of information for book lovers. Ringle Tingle Tiger was out of print for 8 years until 2015. Recently our former distributor went into liquidation. So the book has been unavailable except through the website. Q. How can I get a new copy of Ringle Tingle Tiger for our younger readers? A. "Ringle Tingle Tiger" is now available through JAMES BENNETT library supplies, through the website www.ringletingletiger.com.au, and through Facebook Marketplace ACT 'Buy, Sell, Swap' sites.. Q. What’s new to our website that will engage children and support learning? A. New Video and audio book readings; tiger, dinosaur and animal colouring downloads As a general resource, in the 'Resources' section, at www.ringletingletiger.com.au/more-resources, is both a video and audio 12 minute book reading by the author. As well there are a few more animal colouring-in templates, tiger mask and pawprints to download for a jungle theme. Another resource is ‘The Publishing Journey-From First Draft to Final Book’, a Powerpoint presentation with voice over, showing the total publishing process from the very first piece of paper to the final published book. You can see the illustrator’s first drawings, the editor’s first corrections, and the evolution of the book’s cover by the book designer. There are positive messages for beginning writers. Also, ‘The Burger Method’, a Powerpoint of my highly visual and colourful writing template, is ready. Comparing a story to a hamburger, it shows what ingredients make juicy stories. The first part on stories is live today, with ‘Sentences’ and Work Sheets’ to follow. So if you want more information then call me on 0418 392 877.
