23.01.2022 I have to admit that I didn't know about this. It would be interesting to see how it works

22.01.2022 Marked Focus is about to start the process of preparing the 2017 Tax Time Letter. 21.01.2022 Hey Guys. The Corona virus has created situations where some of you may be required to work from home. As a result, you will be able to claim a portion of your internet bill and a set amount for the amount of time spent at home doing work.... So when you are working from home, you will need to get: 1) a notepad/diary to record the hours that you spend at home doing work; and, 2) a detailed bill from your internet provider to show the data that you are using. I hope that you enjoy the rest of the day. Mark

21.01.2022 Good evening to you all. The Budget for 2019/2020 was announced on the Tuesday just gone. A couple of things will definitely be implemented as the legislation has already been passed through Parliament (a minor miracle).... With a federal election sue in the next couple of months, it will be a wait and see approach to see what things do and do not get implemented. Watch this space Have a good night. Mark Peterson

18.01.2022 Good morning everyone. As we head towards the Labour Day weekend in Melbourne, the end of the financial year is not that fair away. Bookings for appointments for Tax Time 2019 can now be made.... Let me know what day, time and location suits you and we can work from there. Enjoy the rest of your day. Mark Peterson

16.01.2022 Good afternoon everybody. I hope that you are all well. Do you use your motor vehicle for work purposes? And work purposes does not mean driving to/from work unless you are self-employed or a tradesperson in particular circumstances.... Should this apply to you and you have not done a logbook within the last 5 years, it is in your best interest to do so. By doing one, it has the potential to add some more money in your pocket at tax time. Should you have any questions in relation to this, please feel free to contact me. Have a good day. Mark Peterson

14.01.2022 Good afternoon to you all Do you have a friend or family member that has at least one tax return overdue? Do they want to get them sorted out and, more than likely, get some money in their pocket?... Should this be the case, please feel free to pass on my details and we can organise a day, time and location to get them sorted out. I hope that you have a good day. Mark Peterson

13.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone. I hope that you are having a great day. Do you know anyone that is a part of the 'Gig Econony;?... The Gig Economy is the wide-ranging phrase that covers the following: a) Providing a service as an independent contractor. For example - accounting, consulting, photography, design etc. b) Renting or using something you have to make extra money. Giving people rides in your car, renting out a room in your house or even your entire house c) Making something to sell online Should you know anyone in this space, I would like to talk to them and see what issues that they have from a tax and accounting point of view. Thank you in advance. Mark Peterson

We have spots available before Santa arrives and we can ensure that you get your refund back in time for your holiday and Christmas spending. ... 11.01.2022 As the start of the new financial year approaches, it is time to do at least one of the following: 1) set a budget to see what the money coming in and going out will roughly be; 2) review your spending to see what spending is necessary and what is not; and, 3) see what things you can get a better deal on (eg. your loan, gas and electricity, etc..) and organise a better deal.... Should you need any help in relation to this, please do not hesitate to contact me.

11.01.2022 Beware of ATO scams. If you receive a text message from the "ATO" saying that you may be entitled to a refund, please do not click on any links and delete the message. This is a scam. If you're unsure whether you are owed a refund, please call our office and we will check your tax account for you.

07.01.2022 Hey Guys. The start of a new year is an awesome time to review every monthly subscription or payment for your business and personal situation. Go out and get everything reviewed (eg. insurances, loans, utilities, etc....) as it... definitely pays off. Should you need help in relation to this, please feel free to yell out. Have a great day Mark

03.01.2022 As we approach the end of January 2017, it is time to take stock of where you are financially. From a short-term, medium-term and a long-term point of view. It would be greatly appreciated if you could print out the photo, honestly answer the questions and then e-mail it back to me at [email protected].... Your answers will form the framework on what things can be improved.

01.01.2022 The Federal Government are proposing to drop the HELP debt repayment threshold down to $42,000 in the Federal Budget that is happening next week. This will have a significant impact on the cash flow of those who have HELP debts. However, this is assuming that the legislation to support this gets through both houses of Parliament.
