According to Jaysen of Hulk Media who is a strategic partner of Marketing Broker Australia, we need to put greater focus on rewarding and incentivising people to encourage engage...ment. How can we do that? We invite you to learn more by reading Jaysen's article: https://zcu.io/v9It

15.01.2022 Community, Connection and Neighbours. During the lockdown, it was hard for even the deepest of introverts among us not to feel lonely and isolated. It makes sense then, that online platforms such as Facebook Groups became one of the primary ways of connecting with people in the community. Now it appears that Facebook is doubling down on this trend by developing a new feature called Neighbourhoods. This new feature is designed to connect users in the immediate vicinity to thi...ngs like events, fundraisers and even support within thier local neighbourhood. This new feature could have a profound impact on local community organisations and businesses but we will have to wait and see. Currently, this feature is only available in Canada but if it proves successful it will no doubt roll out to Australian users. 10.01.2022 Selfie filters...Are they just a bit of fun or are there hidden dangers? Not too long ago magazine companies were condemned for generating a dangerously idealised version of beauty through glossy photoshopped ads. With the advent of social media, however, the issue has now shifted and amplified. Dove claims that by the age of 13, 80% of girls distort the way they look online. Sadly this has only become a larger issue due to the pandemic as children and teenagers spend more t...ime on digital devices. To highlight the issue, Dove created an ad that raises awareness around the dangers of social media and encourages all to have a 'selfie conversation'. Watch the ad for yourself below. https://www.thedrum.com//ad-the-day-dove-reverses-selfie-e
05.01.2022 A HOT topic for discussion "misinformation on social media". There are no easy answers. We have seen the impact this is having on a global scale. Mass manipulation, foreign interference, fake news and conspiracies on social media is a bipartisan issue that requires a bipartisan solution. During the 2020 presidential election, both Facebook and Twitter developed and tested a wide range of tools to battle the spread of misinformation. ... Facebook and Twitter set up ad transparency measures, improved detection systems to identify coordinated inauthentic behaviour, blocked dangerous hashtags, added warnings on some content and even updated user-reported content responses. Facebook may have an internal measurement tool which it uses to predict the likelihood of potential real-world violence, based on rising discussion trends. If true, this tool could allow the platforms to take action faster and block misinformation before it becomes a problem. What does this mean for the future of social media? We don't know, but if these tools help fight the spread of misinformation like conspiracy theories and outright lies, it will likely become a permanent feature not just in the U.S but around the world.
