22.01.2022 It is the year of the Ox , traditionally associated with #hardwork and #honesty and people born in the year of the Ox are know to be #diligent and #kind. Characteristics we really appreciate. But Chinese New Year also represents some very real economic outcomes. To the #retail, #hospitality and #tourism industry in Australia, this event contributes $1.4bn to our economy . This year will of course look a lot different, but there is still a lot to celebrate. 13.01.2022 The inception of the idea to create Marketing For Good came during Covid. Covid had a profound impact on the world and it has changed us all. I think people in general stopped thinking about what they needed in their lives and started thinking about how can they contribute. I had taken time out from my work in Marketing and by chance responded to a call for help from a local business, which was struggling and needed marketing support to help them stay afloat. ... While I was doing what I could to help one small business, I was also having a lot of conversations with many of my marketing industry peers. People I was speaking to were saying that they wanted to help and didn’t know how to or where to start. At the same time, I could see other small businesses that needed help, but we are all limited in our time and could only do so much. I was struck by the idea that if we could create a community with everyone who wanted to help, perhaps we could all help a little to do one big job. If we take one client, and if lots of people take a little bit of the work, everyone gets the satisfaction of contributing to make a difference with the time they can afford to give, and the businesses that need help get the professional support they need to survive. I have been developing and building the idea over the past six months or more, and even as I am launching I know that it will continue to evolve. I am sure that if this lasts 5 years, it will not end up in the same place that it has started. It is all about responding to the needs everyone feels and what people want out of the experience.
